Finally, Gingerbread for All DInc Owners! Part 2! Update's avail!

Hey I just got an ota update notification for 2.3.4 that is 6.7MB in size.

I flashed the leaked gingerbread ruu and am not rooted. I have alogcat on and have searched for *.zip , and update but it cones up empty.
BTW, I have not applied the update yet either.
Also, in my file manager, I no longer have folders with a "." in front of the folder name. I wish I could find the dl location from logcat, but it really sticks I can't even find the update file! Of course , I'm not sure what this update is either since I'm already running 2.3.4.

My co-worker got pushed the update this morning...

I got the update too, but it was taking forever to install so I hit cancel. Now I can't get the update back. Will it show up again or did I blow it?

Just got my update last night at 3 am...installed, and while I'm still finding the little differences, (like for some reason it uninstalled certain programs like Opera and IMDB, though reinstalling is not biggie) I can tell GB is running my DInc much much faster and smoother...LOVE IT!!!

Look for a web address in the alogcat file.

Glad to hear this is rolling out!

Edit :
I wouldnt worry if you havent got the update yet soon enuf you will get it as long as your on stock rom not on a custom rom that is.

Not so patiently waiting for the update with alogcat ready.

Re: Finally, Gingerbread for All DInc Owners! Part 2! Update's av

I tried the leaked version a week ago and by lunchtime I had re-flashed back to CM7. I may try this again but I really don't think anything's going to get me away from CM7.

Re: Finally, Gingerbread for All DInc Owners! Part 2! Update's av

I HOPE it comes through for me today or tomorrow...Tues/Wed I will be intensively using my Dinc for documenting a job with pictures (could be as many as 100 each day). If it is offered while I am working, can I defer, or will that either put me back at the bottom of the list, or take my chance away totally?

No they couldn't but if you go to the Rom section follow the link there

Amazing that no one has caught the log file yet.

That's what I was thinking. I ended up digging around on XDA and finding someone that had uploaded the full update file from their phone to another website. From what I've seen, no one has caught the download location yet.

Re: Finally, Gingerbread for All DInc Owners! Part 2! Update's av

Given the fact that only two or so posters claim to have received the update, I have serious doubts that it is even rolling out.

MD5: DCBA30A164327C4F6903ABF0222C5E9A (from HashTab v3.0.0)

Filename: 6f37e6f6b9ab.OTA_Incredible_C_Gingerbread_S_VERIZO N_WWE_4.06.605.3-3.26.605.1_release_210690.zip

This is the OTA from phone currently at:
Build number: 3.26.605.1 CL264707 release-keys
Baseband version: 2.15.00.07.28

- make sure you have a full battery
- I lost a few apps in the process (all settings survived)... so sync your appbrain and back up the list (back everything else up while you're at it)
- copy the update file to the root of your sd and rename it update.zip
- power off your phone and boot into hboot by holding vol down and power
- hboot will launch, pause, then automatically find the file and run the update
- for this to work you must be complete stock (unrooted)
- do this at your own risk!

thx to todd at xda:
4.06.605.3 update is hitting phones as we type! - Page 7 - xda-developers

You don't need to rename it. Make sure to clear your cache and Dalvick cache first, then go to install zip from SD card, choose the file and 10 minutes later you should be in business. This is for rooted phones and is a rooted version. You do not need S Off. I would back everything up including your current ROM. I did mine a little more than 2 weeks ago and just did the latest tonight. It boots fast because of the setting for Fast Boot. You can turn that off in Applications Settings, bottom of the list.
