Fingerprint Scanner Stops Working On S8

Sure wish the fingerprint scanner would quit not working. Yes it's in a terrible position and yes I have to reset this damn phone every couple days now because it just quits responding. Had my plus since launch. Boo

ME TOO. Face will work so fast at times I don't realize it. Then nothing. Fingerprint gets cranky and works when it wants, and then every week or so it completely stops and I have to restart. The Note5 & 7 and S7 worked GREAT so, idk, maybe it's this set. It's going to the BF with the note comes out anyway

I found if push my finger hard next to the plastic backing works every time.

Have you cleaned the sensor? It does get dirty and that clouds the reading. You also might try re-registering your prints. I actually find the sensor placement to be perfect for unlocking with either index finger.

I'm right handed, but use my left hand to pick up and unlock my phone. Works great, almost every time.

A little tip someone told me to try for an older phone on here a while back and it works great. Add an extra fingerprint for the same finger. So for me I've got Fingerprint 1 AND Fingerprint 2 saved for the index finger on my right hand. It really does help and makes it more reliable.

I know exactly what you guys are talking about sometimes the fingerprint scanner will stop working on the Galaxy S8. Unfortunately what you've got to do is go into the settings menu and toggle it off then on again and it'll start working. Definitely a glitch / bug within the OS.

I restart my phone and it fixes it

It'll register my fingerprints but when I go to try and unlock the phone with it, it doesn't work.
