Firmware update

I called them and supposedly they had to do something on their end so it would show up correctly as an LG G2. Not sure I believe they did anything but who knows. Normally I don't think you have to, usually put in SIM card, power on and it should activate. Give it a try, if it doesn't work after that then give them a call.

Verizon keeps telling me it has nothing to do with the SIM. That's why I emailed LG. But they making it like I'm the only one with this issue smh.

I told them no there r a few others with the same issue but we all used our old SIM card.

It's definitely the sim card. I swapped sims with my brother(htc one) and within minutes the update installed. Out of curiosity, we checked the active devices under both sims.. His changed to lg g2(which should happen), mine stayed as my old Razr when called up on his One.. However, when we swapped back(after the ota) my sim card listed correctly as a g2. I recommend doing this. All mine needed was a kick from another device.

So I tried putting in my new SIM in this weekend and it would not ever activate. So ended up putting my old SIM back in. Still no update for me, when I have time (who has time these days) I will take the new SIM with me to a Verizon store.

Yes. As soon as they put it in the update came through.
