First Softbank, now Clearwire. Sprint is going up against the big boys. MetroPCS?

I hope they buy T-Mobile after that too!

I hope they don't.

I'd rather see both T-Mobile and Sprint get better.

This will definitely speed up the LTE rollout. Clearwire's bandwidth will be an excellent add-on to Sprint's network.

Would be another Nextel merger.

T mobile is gsm, Sprint is CDMA, problem waiting to happen trying to run 2 networks!

Metro POS would be a better deal, both CDMA technology, run it as another Sprint prepaid entity, but also gain more LTE areas...

Right. Swallow up metro for their LTE and let T-Mo suffer on their own. No need picking up their problems.

The spectrum lines up (T-Metro). It won't be like Sprint/Nextel.

But wouldn't it really be another setback? T-Mo is in a deeper hole than Sprint when it comes to LTE.

But T-Mobile's LTE plans line up with what MetroPCS is already doing with LTE. MetroPCS's CDMA network will be phased out and will be re-used for T-Mobile's legacy network. And the spectrum lines up there too.

OK. I understand what your saying now. Then Sprint picks up a nice chunk of GSM customers plus added LTE bandwidth. Makes sense. Not to mention you kill off some competition at the same time.

Could not have said it better myself.
Maybe we can call Sprint "The Next Big Thing." :)

Mav.

Not sure what you're referring to by "Sprint picks up a nice chunk of GSM customers".

If Sprint buys T-Mo they absorb those customers.

meh. Sprint doesn't need to buy T-Mobile to succeed.

I wasn't implying that. If you read back through the thread I wasn't in favor of Sprint buying T-Mo. Once you explained about the spectrum issue I was simply pointing out a perk of them making the purchase. It seems they may have that purchase in mind though. Hesse stated yesterday that Sprint is indeed open to buying T-Mo somewhere down the line.
