Five days with the LG G3 and I'm about ready to send this back!

I love my G3 I think it's the best phone I've ever had.

I didn't return mine but I went back to my 5S. I know, it's a sin in the Android community lol I'm just stuck in Apples ecosystem and my wife (who I communicate most with) has an iPhone and we share a lot of pictures and videos and iMessage works better for that for me. The G3 was awesome, the screen was a little off to me and I thought the camera was a disappointment compared to the 5S. The shots I take with this usually don't have blur when taking pics of my dogs and moving objects and I couldn't get a good shot with the G3 but I am not a camera wiz. The 5S is simple, yes and I actually prefer that, plus, as stated in my review of the phone, I have all other Apple products lol. I'm biased for sure but I like what I like and I like both phones.

Well just went back to AT&T and exchanged for a new one.
Unfortunately the LED notifications still wont work.

Are you sure you checked the box to have them work with downloaded apps? Mine was unchecked out of the box.

I also use LightFlow, so I set up different colors for different applications, and I haven't had any problems since doing that (not that I was having problems before).

Great thing about Sprint version a lot of the bloatware can be uninstalled

Yes! Glad to hear to hear they kept that up. On my Flex most of the junk especially non Google was only 26KB stub links to the Play store. Even crud like Lookout was removable. I did need to go stab Lumen Toolbar in a dark alley and hide the body tho. >.> sshhhh....

The radio was disabled? Thought it was part of the tuner module on the Korean version and there is no FM radio on the 801.

I have 3 G3's in my household and I'm happy to say all 3 run exactly the same perfect with none of the flaws mention here or any other forums.

Well except the notification LED doesn't always work and the stock keyboard app is a little laggy and doesn't responds well when you're fast typer like myself, but I switched it out with SwiftKey.

I miss Tmo. I wish their coverage map did not generally suck in Kentucky, Ohio and Tennessee.

Does anybody who has the G3 for T-Mobile have the same issues as everyone else? Cause I would like to know considering I am with T-Mobile except I don't have the G3 I have the G2 and was thinking about upgrading within a month or so.

I've got it on T-Mobile. I'm seriously considering returning it. I have the same camera speed issues as the original post, and I find the sound in the headphones to be underwhelming at best. My LEDs work fine, and as far as I can tell I don't have the problems resulting from low signal strength, either. But the slow camera speed and mediocre headphone sound makes me wish I'd kept my M7.

The radio has been disabled by AT&T. There's no way to get it running that I can see. I'm not sure if they killed that actual electronics of the FM receiver or if they just disabled it at the kernel level. Greedy AT&T. Not that V is any better.

The sound in headphones is actually pretty good to my ears. I'm not a sound engineer but I have pretty good ears and am a big music fan. Not bad. Have you tried disabling the HDR mode in the camera? A LOT faster without that!

Notification lights working OK now.
The only serious issue I still have is the headphone jack.
There are times when I am previewing notification sounds in the settings where, even though I am plugged into headphones, the sound comes out of BOTH the speaker and the headphones.

More seriously, I'm still having that problem of plugging in the G3 to my car stereo AUX in, with a standard 3.5mm cord. I plug in and the music still comes out of the speaker. Have to try for 10-20 tries before it finally "takes". Super PITA because I use this method every day.. Never had this issue with Samsung. also getting that annoying "spark sound" between tracks and have had the sound just quit after one of these "spark noises"...which means trying to hook it all back up again. I really wish there was a solution for this.

Can anyone with a car "AUX in" test this and see if it's just me or not? Maybe Toyota has a weird sensitivity in the front end of the stereo amp they use.

I use mine with the aux plug into a aftermarket car stereo with no spark sounds and no sound coming from the speaker while plugged in.

Was in a Tmobile store and the HTC One M8 was next to the LG G3. I decided to do a speedtest on each one and in the store, the LG3 was getting 14, 15 mbps tops. The HTC was pulling 36 mbps. Legitimate?

I never got over 2.5 mbps on my Iphone 4 using the Sprint service I had. When I got the HTC One, my daughter and my parents all said the calls were coming through so much better on my phone, at the house, and even when i was in the car using Tmobile service on bluetooth.

Happy I switched to Tmobile, but am concerned with battery life on the HTC .

Also, can someone explain the screen differences between these two phones? I still have time left to switch phones to the LG3, if that is what I want to do. It was between these two as I had ruled out the Samsung Galaxy 5 and the Note is too big, but the HTC is at least an improvement for me over the Iphone 4

Just got the LG G3 on T-Mobile yesterday, so far loving it. None of the problems the OP had. (Camera is very fast, sound is very good, etc) My other phone is an M8 also on T-Mobile. Their speedtests are almost identical when I compare them.

As far as screens, I like the auto-brightness on the One's screen much better, but other than that I think the G3s screen is better. Both look excellent, but I definitely prefer the G3s overall. To me the higher resolution is noticeable, especially in the UI and while browsing. Some people don't think the resolution makes much of a difference, so your eyes may vary. :)

My One has had great battery life, and the G3 looks to be almost as good, but I'll need a few days under my belt to be sure. The One's battery life is the best I've ever seen on a cell phone.

Both excellent phones, it really depends on your priorities as to which is the better choice. If you want more specifics feel free to ask.

Thanks. Might be some strange interaction between my stereo and the G3.

Sounds like the headphone jack in the phone is faulty. Those staticy sounds you're getting are usually an indicator of a bad connection and you're having problems with headphones and you car cable.

Nope, it's not a mechanical electrical connection issue. I replaced my G3 two days ago and new one exhibits same behavior. the spark noise is not generated by the cord/jack connection. It's generated by the LG or the stereo itself. I get the same noise hooking up the cord as I do between every track when the music is playing in a normal sequential manner.

Did both models suffer the problem you're having with sound coming out of the phone speakers while headphones or other cables are in the jack?

It could be the car stereo reacting poorly? This person keeps talking about aux, but I am unclear whether HEADPHONES had been attempted with the same result...
