once that's installed try and reboot. If that works, then push the new CWM via odin

followed the directions in the op and everything seems great so far! thanks to everyone that helped me. Glad that i did the extra work and went to stock eb01 first to clean things up, as im pretty sure i have messed some small things up in the past month or so. havent done anything in the new cwm other than flash SC so far though.

Well, my phone is all jacked up now. boo!

After all my phone drama today, I thought I was good to go. I finally booted up and was sc2.9.2 all over again.
Now I've got a black screen, non-working soft keys (though they light up), and the notification bar works. The unlock button doesn't unlock readily, but will if I keep trying.
Thoughts?

OK, so let's start from the beginning to figure this out. What was your setup before you started on this journey? SC 2.9.2 voodoo or nonvoodoo? Any theme? Which kernel? Any other mods or patches?

Are you getting this? I am trying to fix the SOD now, but that might be what your getting too. But I am not sure.

Okay, today I started with a beautiful non voodoo superfrankenclean 2.9.2
No theme.
Patch for the alarm clock (TW)
Today I went in to redo the fix by including to add the atlas pit file and check the repartition box.
Then began the drama. After several hours of only being able to boot in to cwm, I finally flashed DI01 through odin, then flashed cwm recover all then flashed 2.9 then 2.9.2
It was laggy, and the soft keys didn't really respond but I figured I'd work on it later. (after several hours because of dinner plans)
I think that's all. I was okay for a a bit, then restored my data and apps
Now after restoring I'm all black screens and weird stuff.

Are you getting this? I am trying to fix the SOD now, but that might be what your getting too. But I am not sure.

I'm thinking it's different. There's an element of sleep death, but I have other things working, like the notification bar, I can get into my email if there's a notification. It's making me testy. grrrr

I have a red triangle in my task bar with an exclamation point.
When I pull down the screen it says Unexpected error... please select this to help us fix the problem...
but I can't "select" it.

How did you restore data and apps?
Have you tried rebooting?

My Backup Pro. Same as I've been using with no issues.
Rebooting after restoring my data/apps is what led to this

Ok, this is what's confusing me. Why did you flash 2.9 then 2.92? No need for that. Do you know if you have any update.zip files anywhere on your sd card? I can't think of any reason you should have booted directly to cwm after putting the battery back in after doing the ODIN with the

Nevermind. I just reread your old posts and figured out your problem. You flashed DroidXcon's EB01 package in ODIN with the PIT file. You need to follow GizmoDroid's steps but use the EB01 file from SAHARAT'S post #9 toward the bottom of the first page of Gizmo's thead

That is exactly what I did this afternoon.
I flashed the EB01 package in ODIN with the pit file.
oh. wait. not from post #9.

I wasn't planning on going back to the "fix" method. Just going back to the 2.9.2 from adry's link.
Does this make sense.

because she flashed DI01 and needed to use a wipe flash first...my guess is she didnt turn the phone on after flashing 2.9 and proceeded to flash 2.9.2 consecutivaly or however thats spelt...or the question of what options she used to restore is a good question

Bingo. I didn't turn my phone back on after flashing 2.9.
I immediately flashed 2.9.2. Bad?
