[FIX][4-1-11]Latest ClockworkMod and SuperClean ROM's - Erasing the CWM Confusion

Bingo. I didn't turn my phone back on after flashing 2.9.
I immediately flashed 2.9.2. Bad?

*Isn't this how you learn?* ha. Sorry to take it out on y'all!

yeah the wipe gets kicked off when you turn on the phone, not during the flash, sorry that is my fault for not indicating that. Many people dont know that so you are not alone, it took me awhile to figure that out and im the one who was making the packages, so no worries. the fault lies with me

Not your fault. You're a prince.
Now I've learned something and maybe that will help someone one day.

So what should I do now?

My phone is currently shut down.

Well my opinion would be to follow Gizmo's method, but use the correct EB01 file from post#9, that will give you a deep clean and start you back out fresh. But let's see what DroidXcon has to say as he is the real expert.

flash 2.9, turn the phone on so it wipes,
shut down and
flash 2.9.2

Okay Professor Lando... though I trust you both completely! :D

Well if you are planning on using Gizmo's method anyway, I would think, just go straight to that. If you are not planning on going through Gizmo's fix all, then do what DroidXcon just suggested.

im trying to leave fix all methods till last option from now on because of recent events if you know what i mean , until i get a phone so i can make new fix all NO BRICK methods.

Is it really necessary to do a coplete phone wipe just to install this new cwm ?

If you don't want to you don't have to. I just related my experience earlier where I thought my phone was running great before, with only a few minor hiccups here and there. Now after doing this whole method I KNOW my phone is running great with no hiccups at all.

Okay beloved AC fam... here is the latest.
I flashed 2.9 via odin.
booted up.
yay, win win all good.

then I flashed cwm recovery, and flashed 2.92 via cwm and was back to black screens and cranky buttons that didn't respond to my oh-so-gentle touch.

so I flashed the odin 2.9.2 and now I seem to be back to normal.

Do I still want to do the gizmodroid fix. of course.
But after today, I think I'm going to wait a while.

Things seem to be smooth right now.
I'm guessing I messed up by flashing the wrong EB01 file earlier.

So, that's my story... :D

Just want to see if anyone has a fix. I went through the "method of fixing every problem....." over the weekend. Phone runs great. gettng much better battery life....really happy. (Here it comes) But.....every morning when I power up I get a force close of my messaging sys. Although messaging works great all day and i have no other issue....just one FC in the morning. It isn't a deal breaker or anything....but it was the reason I did the full clean method listed here.

Any ideas?

I had that problem too, did you try running fxpms in terminal emulator or through cwm? Also remember to check re-partition when you odin atlasv2.2pit on top of the new cwm recovery fix. I forgot to do one of those steps and got major FCing on 6 apps including messaging so I started over again and now it runs flawlessly with no FC issues.

+1 on fixing permissions either through cwm or terminal emulator. Almost always seems to clear up FC issues.

I did run fxpms through Terminal Emulator yesterday and yep, checked the re-partition box when in odin. Hmmm. Like I said not a huge deal. I'll try running permissions again and see.

Thanks.
