Does anyone know if there is a way for the X to tap into a flash drive directly? Maybe some sort of accessory?

I'm thinking of putting movies on a flash drive so I could have only one at a time on the SD card. They are using nearly a gig each.

I don't think this is possible without some major hacking. Your best bet would be to get an additional 16 or 32 GIG micro SD card to carry with you.

Just my $.02

The Dell Streak supports USB Host mode so Android *can* support this..

however this is the only device I've seen with it. Best bet is to use the above posters suggestion.

This is something that interests me too. It sounds like there may be a way to get it into USB Host Mode to use a USB keyboard, but being able to mount a flash drive sounds like it would take some kernel level drivers. If the Dell Streak actually supports mounting a USB drive, that would be awesome.

I have a handheld DeLorme PN-40 GPS receiver that can be seen as a drive on a PC. It would be awesome to be able to connect it to my X. I'd love to be able to download GPX files to my X and transfer them to the PN-40.

Good point. Takes up less space than a flash. Might be cumbersome to switch, though. Probably a 32 gig replacing the 16 would be the way to go. Where would the best place to get one be? Sandisk.

I would check out the android central store. You can access it from the main page of this site.
