I reinstalled the kernel I was using before (EB16 nonvoodoo). Uninstalled the Amazon App Store that I installed an hour or so ago in case it was causing a problem, booted into recovery, cleared Davlik and cache, rebooted, and still have a Launcher Pro error. Eventually it works but it has some kind of glitch. Any ideas?

If you have any other aftermarket launchers like ADW, ADW EX, other versions of LP (not sure if there are any), etc. installed, try uninstalling them then reboot.

I had a problem with ADW EX being slow to load when transitioning from sleep or another open app, etc. but that problem has practically disappeared since I uninstalled the previous version of ADW and LP (they were all installed at the same time because I was test driving them all). :p

It still happens whenever I reboot but that's it. Makes me think it's a memory usage type issue. :-\

I uninstalled Launcher Pro, booted into recovery, cleared the caches, installed the new EC10 kernel, and rebooted. Everything went well so I reinstalled Launcher Pro, restored the data for it from TiBU, and re-setup my folder organizer and home screen icons. I just rebooted and again and LP is unresponsive until it shows an error about waiting or force close. I choose to wait and about 30 seconds later it starts working. Harumph.

Try doing that again but without restoring data from TiBu.

I think your problem is you restored your LP data from TiBu. Whatever was causing the problem with LP probably got put back in when you restored data. Go through that process again, but don't restore data through TiBu. Just start scratch with the LP you downloaded from the market.

i have experianced mixed results with tb. what i do is let the market install all your apps and then use tb to restore data only, and then only the apps that have data i need back.

uninstall lp. then go to dbdata/databases/com.fede.launcher folder, on your phone root with root explorer and delete that folder. then reistall lp.

Interesting... I uninstalled Angry Birds Rio that I had installed a couple of hours ago via the Amazon App Store and rebooted. Seems fine now.

Ytaay, you may have been right about a memory issue and maybe Angry Birds Rio was hogging something in the background. Heck, I didn't even install it for me, it was for the spouse and kid!

So now I have the new kernel AND a working phone - yay!

I have had a few sporadic issues since installing the new kernel. I could update the FB app. I gave up on it because I didnt care much.

Now the AC app will not open and does a fc. Same with words with friends. Words opened on about the sixth try. The browser is faster, but about every fifth page it gets a cannot connect error.

I didnt have the issue before, and if you guys have suggestions I will be happy to work on it a bit.

I am running sc 2.9.1 with nitrodark and lpp pro.

I get those errors when I do this:

"cat /proc" <ENTER> --answer: "/proc: invalid length"
"cat /version" <ENTER> --answer: "/version: No such file or directory"

but not when I type "cat /proc/version" <ENTER>

If you typed it correctly then it appears you don't have the /proc/version "file" which suggests you are on a different build and not SC2.9.1, with the EC10 kernel.

This corresponds with your User CP details which say "DL30", if true you might consider going to SC 2.9.1; Adrynalyne's latest and greatest is clean and tweaked nicely - I highly recommend it.

:p

I've been on 2.9.1 for a while now. See screenshot. I do appreciate your help but don't waste your time on this. I was merely curious to see evidence that I was on the new kernel.

Yay! Good job! Teaching your phone who's boss is the best! I LOVE when that happens!

sounds like you flashed a nonvoodoo kernel over avoodoo kernel. flash old kernel. restart. make sure you got the voodoo kernel.

Can you put this kernel on SC 2.8 or just 2.9 and 2.9.1?

You CAN pair this kernel with 2.8, but why would you want to? Each of the superclean ROMs continually get better and better, so why not run the latest and greatest? But I digress. You should be fine.

EDIT - and 2.9.1 is not a full ROM it is just a patch that goes along with the full 2.9 ROM.
