For real this time too: EC10 kernels

Yeah, don't let Gunnermike53 or Sheepdog Elite know, but I may have become a convert and switched to the dark side after going to voodoo on Sunday :-X

They will never let me live it down for taking so long to try voodoo.

I switched about 2 weeks or so ago, can't understand why I did not do it sooner. Guess you need a certain number of flashes before you go....

Hey guys, need a little assistance here. I'm now running sc 2.9.1 EC10 and the soft key lights no longer work with the screen. This is by no means a deal breaker because the phone is running at hyper speed. I'm just concerned I made a mistake and may face other issues. I simply flashed the ec10 kernel (voodoo) in cwm over sc 2.9.1 eb01 (voodoo). Even did a Dalvik cache wipe for good measure. I have no theme, not many apps, not using LP, and no widgets running. I can't figure out what I could have done wrong. Any suggestions? I know Adrynalyne said the kernels weren't heavily tested, but seems like I'm the only one faced with this. Thanks!

Yes sir, tried it 3 times. Even went back to sc 2.9.1 eb01 just to start the process anew. Same result.

You didn't do anything wrong. This has been noticed since 2.9 first came out. Isn't happening to everyone, and it's relatively minor issue, won't harm anything, so nobody is actively searching for a solution. Plus based on Adrynalyne's recent announcement, he's been busy lately. You will probably notice that sometimes when you unlock the screen the soft keys will light up.

You're welcome. I'm also one of those whose capacitive buttons don't light up most of the time unless you click one of them.

clear cache on the problem apps and try again.

Sorry to not get back to you earlier but sleep was in order. I cleared the caches on those apps and it is running great (like everyone else)!

Words with friends is basically Scrabble...

Flash away, does not wipe

I just flashed EC10 and it definitely wiped all of my messages...not sure if that's expected. Forgot to back them up as I was excited to update! I also noticed that all of my apps says their installed but I'm getting a bunch of FC's.

How did you flash the EC10 kernel? As far as the apps are concerned hit the menu soft key and go settings=>privacy, and uncheck automatic restore

I used the zip file (voodoo) in red all. I figured it was because this was my first time with voodoo...?

the way voodoo works is it backsup all your files, repartitions your memory from rfs to ext4, then reinstalls the backup. so i imagine that its possible for the reinstallation to fail

So from here I just reinstall the apps and I should be good to go? I tried to go in and wipe the cache of a couple apps that wasn't working but it didn't help. Also, I've changed settings in my phone and powered it off and it resets it. It even increases the volume from vibrate. I just did it three times....any idea what's going on?

did you enable lagfix after you installed the voodoo kernel?

Yes. About to double check that it actually started. It said it would enable after reboot.

UPDATE: It said it was disabled and would enable after reboot (as it did when I flashed). I rebooted, turned off, then on & checked again. Still says disabled. Have no idea why its going back and forth.
