Former Note 7 owners: How is the V20 signal reception?

I have read and seen a few videos stating the V20's LTE and wifi reception are the best of any device so far this year, but nothing confirmed. The Note 7 reception for LTE was weak and the wifi seemed to struggle to the point the N7 got warm, which is odd for wifi.

Main focus is LTE reception though, since that is a battery drainer if not good. Never thought of the Note 4 being great in that regard, but it is compared to the Note 7. Places I struggled or got no LTE data with the N7, work with the Note 4.

I have no positive or negative remarks to make. Haven't travel enough around town with this phone to remark. As with rest of the phone, "It just works" < I think that should be the LG V20 slogan, instead of "play more". IT JUST WORKS!!!

I have both right now and have been doing some experiments. I installed from the Play Store signal check Lite. I have found them to be nearly identical. The Samsung has been perhaps a little bit better.

Stream or download something. Weak signal with bad reception will show up then. The bars are not the measurement, but dBm signal is. Example is my Note 4 and 7 showed the same bars, but the Note 7 had 10 dBm less signal. Both Note 7s did the same thing and struggled. Note 4 does not.

I'm not looking at the bars, I'm using the app signal check lite that shows dbm but I have not done it while I'm downloading something. I will try that good suggestion

I don't have a V20 but my friend / co-worker has one. The -dBm signal on his phone is the same as my Pixel (usually within 1 to 2 dBm). We sit right next to each other as well so same location pretty much.

He has no issues streaming HD video and I don't either. I would say the V20 is just fine :). Oh yeah forgot to mention.. are both on T-Mobile so comparing the same signal from the same towers.

I ride a ferry to work and with my old G3 lost signal every trip in two locations when streaming audio would stop and switch to 1X. With the v20 not a problem at all 4G all the way. Yes the G3 is old but one data point for those that are interested.
