Fossil Gen 5 and Google accounts

Aaaaaarrrggggghhhhh!
Please help Ive just invested in a shiny new Fossil Gen 5 watch but I cant seem to do anything to copy my google account to it

I have deleted data and cache.... removed account on phone... and then reinstalled it etc etc.... but try as I might I still cant get my google acc onto the damn watch

I can see online that many others are experiencing similar problem.... please is there a reliable resolution?

Welcome to Android Central! I moved this from the General Help forum to the Fossil forum for more specific traffic.

Have you already tried doing a factory reset on the watch and going through the setup process again? What happens exactly when you try to add your account?
