Quick question hoping someone can help. I've downloaded Franco's app and it features his kernel's boot image. Is there any way to keep the app, but revert to the stock "x" boot image? If you know a way to do this, please include instructions a noob would understand. Ie; step by step etc. Thanks for your help.
I believe all you have to do is re-flash the factory boot.img in fastboot. But then the app becomes kind of useless as you won't be able to tweak all the available settings.
It sounds to me like mountainloafers is asking about the boot animation, not boot.img... @ML wording is important, as you're describing the boot animation, while boot image is the stock kernel. I believe Franco's app should have a setting to either use his boot animation or not. If for some reason it does not.. you would want to find the old boot animation (it'll be named bootanimation.zip) you wanted and stick it in /data/local/
You can find it inside the zip of whatever ROM you are running, or the factory image. Note that the file is 'bootanimation.zip' but this is NOT a flashable zip.. don't try to flash it in recovery, just place the full zip as it is in /data/local/... in fact you might need to stick a copy of it in /system/media as well. Sorry it's been a while since I've toyed with boot ani's
