I have been on the phone with Verizon more than a couple times. I bought a Droid Bionic when it first came out back in September. I had all the bugs that came with the phone also. So after calling verizon they sent me out a new Bionic. After recieving the Bionic it still had the same problems. I called again and the representative told me that there was going to be an update in November. So i waitied and waited and waited. Eventually the update came in December. After applying the update it fixed some of the bugs but still had a ton of data connection problems. So once again i called verizon and got a new replacement sent to me. That one had the same problem as the last 2. I finally got fed up with the phone and said i would like a different type. After a woman said that the only phones available to be switched out was the HTC thunderbolt, LG revolution, and the Samsung Charge. I told her that i paid for a dual core, 4G phone and expected to receive something similar or better since none of it was my fault. She stayed with her story so i hung up and called back. Got a new guy and he told me that the closest one would be a HTC Rezound. Since i had a motorola i wanted one that i could switch out all the chargers and batteries if they could fit. He told me that the Razor, Nexus, and IPhone was not available. After talking with him for a little while longer and he compared the two he came back and told me he could send out a Droid Razor. The best thing is I didnt have to upgrade early or pay anything for the device. I thought this would be helpful for all the the dataless people with a bionic or if their phones are giving them to many problems.

That is nice to know. I would consider if they would give me a refund or swap out my lapdock with new phone.

Yeah - my brother got this deal. His Bionic, like mine, pretty much like everyone's is a POS with connection. Beast of a phone but honestly the connection is where it counts and mine drops for hours on end. I just received a replacement bionic, but it's having the same issue. I dunno what Verizon or really, Motorola plans to do about this.

Anyway, a few weeks back my brother got his replacement bionic - same problems and after a few phone calls he got a refurbished RAZR. Awesome. I'm gonna give my Bionic one more shot, if these problems persist, I'm gonna call back Friday and deman I get an equal or better phone that actually works as intended. Thankfully though, Verizon Customer Serives is normally top notch and willing to hear you out. But you do have to be firm.

Honestly though, I think I'm done with the gadget war. Android phones are pumped out every minute it seems - cutting corners here and there obviously. Whatever they give me, RAZR, Rezound, I dunno, I may just turn it around for an iPhone. This is ridiculous, bought the phone and it was essentially outmoded in a month or two by 3 separate phones? I rather have a phone that at least is secured a year if not longer and still has support for a few years on. I blame the 2 year contracts. But man what a dud the Bionic came to be after all the hype. Really upset.

Congrats to you - I hope I'm just as lucky. "My brother got this offer" will have to be my trump card haha

The only problem with the Razor is the battery isn't removable. One of the things I like about the Bionic is the extended battery that I keep around just in case I need it when I'm travelling.

I had some 4G/3G data problems with my Bionic and Verizon sent me another one. I still have occassional problems, but it seems like it's mostly the network that's the problem rather than the phone since my son has a Galaxy Nexus and his phone doesn't seem to have any better data reception than my Bionic on a side by side comparison. So for now, I'm keeping the Bionic since I am mostly satisfied.

I have had similar issues with my bionic and was offered other phones but did nothing newer than the bionic so I turned it down. I think I would go for the Rezound though if they offer it as it seems to be the only dual core 4G phone without signal issues..

Ive been playing around with my Razor for about a week now and i love it. I dont care about a removable battery since i had two for the bionic and never used the second one. With only a .2 gig on each core it seems a lot faster, thin but sturdy, and the screen is definitely a lot better, so is the camera. The only thing i dont like is the battery life. with 4G, animations, bright screen, bluetooth, and data saver off i only would get around 8 hours. When i switched to the phone to 3G (4G when i download something), animations off, screen the lowest setting except when needed, and data saver (except when needed) I ended up going 14 hours and only at 50%. So i can do what the Razor Maxx will do but i just have to adjust my settings. I know its a hassle but so is a dead battery.

Went to dinner with friends last night (the husband went with me on day one for his bionic). Well long story short it fell off his desk at work and shattered the screen a week ago. He took it in to our local vzw store and low and behold they don't have any more bionics. They gave him a fricken Galaxy Nexus (saw it with my own eyes while he was checking sports scores on it after dinner). I guess they were looking at retail prices and some other factors (trying to match phone specs) and thats what they gave him. Lucky SOB lol.

Store address? I will drive there and camp outside their store right NOW!

I got my bionic on nov 10th, 2011 (early b-day present) and still no problems, just waiting for the 4.0 ICS update

I love this phone - rooted and put Eclipse on this and the battery life is great, no issues with signal (better in my house than the Nexus was which I returned for Bionic). I like the form factor and real glass screen much better than Nexus (I like my phones naked and was scared with Nexus).

Everyone has opinions obviously and I appear to be in the minority with this but I had the Nexus for almost a full month before swapping out and saving money for Bionic and I am very happy I did so. Battery life on this versus what I see co-workers struggle with on the Razr is funny.

I have the extended battery in my Bionic and get almost three days on a charge. I love the phone and have had no issues at all since the latest update. I'm sorry you had so many issues and chose to go with an inferior phone. The Razr is so bad, they are already releasing a new Razr Maxx because the battery life is so terrible.

i complained to the FCC before those d-bags at verizon finally offered me another early upgrade to a different phone after trying 3 brand new bionics with a laundry list of probs. i'm still trying to sell my bugonic.

based on my experience, i won't buy another moto phone.

verizon tried the same thing with me-offering a downgrade to a charge or thunderbolt, which is obviously insulting and unacceptable. file a complaint with the FCC as i did if they won't be reasonable about it.
