[I think I originally posted this in the wrong forum.]

Alright, I just bought this N1 today so bear with me while I get my bearings on this platform (I've used and still use an iPhone, which I love, but I'm also a geek, so I need an android phone).

So, I'm trying to update to FRF91 from FRF50. I found the update file to go from FRF50 to FRF91 but using it gives me a verification error. Turns out, the phone has a custom recovery image, RA-nexus-v1.7.0 (not 1.7.0.1, if that matters). So, I can't update using that update.zip. How do I update? TIA.

My guess is that you have to get it to FRF85 and then you could try and do a check in and it might prompt you for an update to 91.

The 85 update was the official Froyo and was about 44 Mb whereas the 91 was something like 500 Kb and was mainly a security update.

That's my best guess. Try getting the 85 update or type into your phone *#*#CHECKIN#*#* and then hit settings > About phone > check for updates and see if that does it or if there is any prompt for an OTA update.

I also have a Nexus One on AT&T. I received my OTA upgrade to Froyo 2.2 on July 4th early in the AM, just when I was about to give up and try to do it manually. So hopefully you will get this pushed out to you soon. (lol, I also have an iphone 3GS)

If you have the Amon-RA recovery installed, then you are rooted and should put on a ROM like MoDaCo Custom ROM or CyanogenMod for example.

Otherwise if you want to run stock, you can flash a rooted stock FRF91 ROM.
