From BB to Incredible (Have issues, need help, advice)

Download HTC Sync from the HTC website. It will save you a lot of time. I am using the one for the Eris (Verizon).

the google sync worked wonders and im happy but now i got to figure out my password to my other gmail account so i can get my email from that account.

I have my Inc coming tomorrow. I currently use a BB with exchange for my work email, calendar, contacts, tasks, etc. and gmail as my personal email. I do not currently use google sync and would like to keep my calendar on the Inc still synced through exchange along with my work email and contacts. I don't currently use google calendar either. A few questions:

1. How does the Inc handle exchange contacts and gmail contacts together? Do they merge? Am I going to have double entries?
2. Can I only sync my exchange calendar and not use google calendar?
3. Is there only one calendar program on the Inc?
4. Is google sync the solution to all of these problems?

I am a little confused and I hope exchange and gmail work well together. I don't mind having separate email boxes. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Mostly, they merge. You may have to do some cleanup, but mine was relatively minor (even with 350+ contacts between google and exchange).

2. Can I only sync my exchange calendar and not use google calendar?

Not sure

3. Is there only one calendar program on the Inc?

There are at least two: an Android one and an HTC one. they may just be different skins for the same application though.

4. Is google sync the solution to all of these problems?

kind of... it will do 90% of the work for you, and from that point you'll just have to do some cleanup

Thanks for your help. Does Verizon require the enterprise (44.99/month) data plan to sync with Exchange? Or will the $29.99/month data plan work?

Came from the Storm 1, it takes some getting use, but ive only had it for 24 hours. HTC sync works great for contacts and calendar from outlook. I have 2 different pop email accounts which set up fast and easy and the emails come in fast enough. i would like a consolidated email box also so I dont have to check 2 different accounts. Overall so far so good and the voice activated dailing is very good to bad it dosnt work through the blue tooth.

I came from a Storm.

4. Alarm clock is good. No complaints. (used it for the first time last night). It's much much easier to scroll to find the correct time. Alarm volume is adjustable. Snooze is adjustable. What else is there?

Does it treat alarms like calendar entries like on BB? I liked being able to set up a recurring alarm and being able to delete any days I am off work and not having to worry about turning it back on the day before I have to go back to work.

I don't know. If someone could verify that the regular data plan covers this, I'd be very happy to save the extra $20 a month.

Unfortunately, the clock's alarms don't appear on the calendar.

Speaking of calendars, someone mentioned that there are 2 calendars. There are two calendar widgets (1 by HTC & 1 by Google), but they both open up to the same calendar.

well as im waiting this morning for my new incredible i would like to ask all the ex black berry users who have there incredible already a few questions

1. How do you like it so far? likes/dislikes?
2. Did you have difficulty with anything on the phone?
3. How did you transfer your contacts from your bb to your incredible.
4. how is the alarm clock on it.

well if no ex bb users got it early i understand but i am interested to know these few questions. thanks in advance guys.

Having been a somewhat fanatic BB user for the past 6 years, I have to say that after installing all the leaks and memory leaks, My first day on the Incredible and I am BLOWN AWAY about what I have been missing on other platforms (maybe this was the perfect time to try). This was further exacerbated by the fact that I tried my best to like the Storm so I could have some fun with my BB finally. This is thing rocks. A little learning curve, but not much.
1) no major gripes yet (i'm sure i"ll find some)
2) not at all. setup seamless.
3) I did google sync and then downloaded the contacts through google (easy)
4) Not sure on alarm clock, not very important to me.

My storm2 = broken :(
