now here is what i am wondering... couldn't you just say i want a 3g only data plan with the phone?

i had asked a couple of vzw customer service reps about a month ago, and they all said 4g will be the same as 3g, so i never asked again.

hopefully you can do this. it seems unfair for people not in 4g data areas.

i doubt it, did anyone allow you to avoid a 3G data plan on 3G phone when 3G was new or any time after that either i don't think so

They have to keep Data plans the same for some time until they get LTE in more area's. Why would you pay for it if you gonna keep going in and out of LTE due to coverage?

I can see with new contracts in 2012 getting raised....But Big Red is all about the $$$$ so nothing would surprise me.

agreed. data sticks have remained the same, so this is why i think it will, once more devices come an more major cities are launched then yea i wouldnt be shocked, so ill sign a contract now an get locked it

I agree i think Verizon is going to kill unlimited for 4G and start charging for going over certain data limits.

I am going to be seriously pissed off at VZW if they charge more for 4G! I, like the rest of you, have been waiting a very long time for the Bolt to release (early Nov. for me). And all the while we have been told from Verizon reps that the data plans WOULD REMAIN THE SAME. So if I have been waiting to upgrade to this damn phone for 4 months and then find out I have to pay more... I will be pretty livid. And more important... that will be the single reason I will NOT be purchasing a Bolt!
