From where are you making the jump to the Note 3?

Coming from Verizon Galaxy Nexus. Staying with Verizon as long as I keep unlimited data.

I am going to be coming from an iPhone 5. I have been with iPhone since the 3G and had every one to the 5. Despite all my investment in the Apple ecosystem, I have got to have a change. Apple has become seriously stale and with the difficulty that jailbreaking is becoming for ios, I have got to try something new and different. I love all I have read about this phone and what all it seems to offer. Can't wait to get it in hand and check it out.

Is this something that I need to pre-order by the way or should I be able to go in an ATT store on October 1 and pick it up?

You can probably go to an AT&T store and get one on the release date, as the iPhone seems to be the only phone that sells out on the first day. :(

Since you have the iPhone 5, are you eligible for an upgrade yet? Some AT&T reps are funny about selling newly released devices at the no-commitment price to customers.

I'm coming from the amazing Huawei Ascend Mate.. Previously I had a note 2 but broke that :-\ can't wait to get my s-pen back :-D

Coming from the iOS line of devices owned the 3G model, then Apple screwed the 3G owners so I was looking around to find a new phone. Some friend was suggesting the note 2 and after some research I was settled on it but found out that there were only a couple of days until the unpacked event in Berlin........

Where are u located?

In Lynchburg, VA. The ONLY places that have LTE are Norfolk (large government contracting area/ports) and up near DC. Surprise surprise. Everywhere else in VA is pretty much non-existent. I think last I heard Richmond might be getting the switch but that's a long ways from here. And Lynchburg is a pretty large area with multiple, multiple colleges and a growing population. Even Charlottesville has nothing from Sprint and that's home to UVA and more. I'm just sick of getting maximum 300kb/s around here and good luck getting a signal going outside any major city. The places where I HAVE been able to get Sprint LTE as I travel have been lackluster at best. I'd be lucky to get 4-5 MB/s, let alone a stable signal. Maybe in a few years with the surge of money from Softbank they'll be doing better, but right now, I'd much prefer to pay a little more for data/service. I think even TMobile has 4G here in some areas. Sad.

Now if I was in a city with decent LTE coverage from Sprint, I don't think I could complain. But yea, as long as I'm living here - Sprint is definitely a price leader but their data speeds and coverage are in a sad state of affairs.

Check out s4gru.com. They have reliable LTE startup dates and progress.

Coming from a Motorola Photon on Sprint. I probably will be leaving sprint even though it has unlimited data, I have never even reached 2 GB. The question becomes AT&T or Verizon, I have heard bad things about Verizon in as much as they disable features and AT&T having problems with updates. What do you folks think?

I'm coming from a Note 2 :)

I'm switching from an iPhone 5 like many others have stated. This will be my first Android and I'm really looking forward to it.

I was going to go with 4GB. Why did you use double, just because you can actually get a 4G signal with Verizon?

Coming from the note II.... IT will be my second android phone. .... ive been all apple since the 3Gs to the 5 and wanted a change

from my GALAXY NOTE II

As someone who purchased the thunderbolt on day one, I commend you for sticking with that phone for as long as you have. I waited anxiously for that phone but it wasn't long before it was a hot mess. Kudos to you and I'm sure you will love the N3.
