So yesterday, I decide to put a DiGiorno pizza in the oven after work. I was hungry. Long day... Pizza box says 25 minutes so I'm thinking, "this is the perfect time to test out the timer that's integrated in the froyo clock app..." I start the timer, then start doing other stuff on the phone. Checked emails, fired off a couple of text messages, that sort of thing. Mind you, I never hit the back button from the timer. I hit the home button. Anyways, I go back to the timer and the time is reset to one minute and it's no longer counting down. Is there something I missed? That sucks! Pizza didn't get burned, so it was all good. Gonna eat leftovers for lunch today...
I went to the Market and downloaded the Stopwatch & Timer app. Sweet choice. It's free, no ads, and it just works. Plus, it shows a little icon in the notification bar up top AND, shows the timer count down in the notification drop down. It's kind of redundant considering that these features should already be implemented in the stock froyo clock app, but for mission critical things, like a pizza in the oven, I need reliability. Not something that will reset on a whim just because I start doing something else on the phone.
Anyone else use the stock froyo timer?
