mine stays like this, and it also does for other people. im worried because IF Froyo ever goes live on the X, I want to to be able and grab it. Probably not going to be a problem though, since it looks like my 18months to an upgrade will probably happen before that...

This is comical now. If the froyo is working on the Droid 2 and the 2 and x are basically the same phones, then what is the delay? I have said it before and I will say it again, just a bunch of clowns at Motorola. The hold up for the entire OS is some bug with "exchange e-mail" Are they kidding? How many people actually use that anyway? How about this, put out froyo for the 95% of us basic users and put out a patch when available for the exchange bug.
Sure seems the DX has been left out in the cold! It feels like even some of the app updates are geared toward 2.2 ... and here we are. Most of all, I'd like to be able to use chrome2phone for my web bookmarks. Can't until on 2.2. Oh well.
Just my luck. I had the unlucky and forgotten about storm 1...so I go to storm2 to feel the love.....storm2 then becomes a forgotten device. So I go to the dx....now forgotten about here too.

Nav don't worry the droid x is not at all forgotten and will receive 2.2 its only mid september and another leak build just came out so it is either very close or will be soon
I wouldn't be surprised if they kept it off the x.to help push the 2's since the x is still sold out although i will say this to wanna be x owners check your local best buy because.my local vzw store was saying 3 week delay and site said ship by.9/21 i called best buy and they had 2 so i picked it up on this past saturday and love it! But i dnt wait for froyo to use the chrome to phone for my bookmarks

How did you get Chrome2phone, then? Says on the Market page it's only for 2.2. What's the secret?

You guys need to relax. These things take time, and this is the reality we find ourselves in. It's still a new phone, and it'll get it's update and bug fixes. It's still a top tier phone at that.
I've noticed that on my X, the update will always return the "try later" message if I am not connected to a wifi network. Sometimes I had to enable wifi then reboot the phone to get it to check for the latest updates.
GREAT! Now we'll NEVER get updated. I mean if we actually have to wait until Sept 31... Oh, silly me, that must be Oct 1?!?

I had the droid 1 wth 2.2 then upgraded to the X with 2.1
Im pretty happy with 2.1 so its not that hard for me to wait. Also ive heard from friends using the droid 1 2.2 and the incredible 2.2 and a lot of them say it is murder on the battery. Im hoping they are holding back for us to get this under control.

I just hate how the update message says that "No update is necessary at this time"... I beg to differ! It is totally needed at this time.

This thread is giving me flashbacks of being in the incredible forum when they was waiting for 2.2.
Then it took forever for someone to post the update.zip ,lol oh well here we go again one more time round and and round we go , lol.
