Froyo ETA Set

People, keep in mind that the DroidX already has the majority of 2.2's features built into its version of Eclair(2.1)

1. 3G hotspot feature built into DX on 2.1
2. 720p video recording built into DX on 2.1
3. I didn't notice a speed increase going from 2.1 to 2.2, nor did my quadrant/linpack scores change so perhaps DX 2.1 has bits/pieces of the JIT?


The main thing I noticed was Flash now in websites, oh and 2.2 specific apps such as chrome2phone(which is COOL)

EDIT: Oh and update all/automatic updating in Market, and apps install to SD card.

EDIT2: I also have the newer Gmail app which is required for 2.2 and its so much better than the one shipped with 2.1/2.2

So I just open my phone and see a txt from 900-070-002834 that says your droid was sent the android 2.2 software update including adobe flash 10.1????? However phone still shows 2.1 update 1? Check for update...nothing... I'm wondering if this is a delayed text for my old phone the D1? However I received that update a long time ago. I've now had the DX for over a week now.

Did you have the Inc before the X? I did and VZ sent out the same text long after my phone received 2.2.

Actually I just got the same notification on my Incredible. 10.1 is included in the Incredible's FroYo update.

You will notice the flash as all those little advertising banners start to move like on your desktop all those YouTube vids that you needed to be redirected away from page now play as is and any flash site you couldn't use before become interactive. You will see improvements in the system in general aswell so FroYo is a nice update to get trust me I've been running it for months now and love it.

Froyo for most people won't even be noticed. As I and others have said, it is really not that big of a deal at all. Flash comes with it but you will see that it's pretty useless. It's a bit faster but the X is already fast. The changes are so small that 9 out 10 won't know the difference.

totally disagree, been on the leaked and its like a completely different phone. way smoother and what not. Thats why I havent reverted back to 2.1 so I can get the official. Im gonna stay on this one unitil its out and then I will revert.
