I have never messed with settings, it took a while to build the batt up by killing it completely before fully charging for usage again, but that's seeming to be what made mine last so long. Eight widgets spread through 5 homescreens on LauncherPro Plus, I'm always on the forums here on my phone, no wifi, if that's important.

I feel like battery life on the DX, or really any phone, depends a lot on location.
Weekends, no battery issues because i have a strong signal most of the day. Weekdays it's crap because I don't get a good signal at work and the battery drains searching for a stronger signal.

For me, using WiFi actually helps...just installed Y5 yesterday which seems to help even more for the times when i'm not near a known Wifi network.

hey i even opted to get the extended battery and it still drains quicker then any phone that i have ever had

but on the upside it doesn't drain like the HTC incredible the guy i work with has 3 batteries and he goes threw them with in a day at work

I find it amusing that being able to turn the phone either way for landscape gets listed on the .pdf - yet there's no mention of any ringer volume improvement.

Apparently being able to rotate the phone both ways is more important than actually being able to hear it ring.

Those are all VZW and Froyo features. The bug fix list will come once it's released.

LOL...I agree, I thought the ringer volume would be more important. I mean it doesn't make sense to have three microphones but not have a good ringer volume, you know?

It is more important to me. I always have my phone on vibrate so I don't care about ringer volume. I have turned the phone the wrong way to try to go to landscape mode many times.

Anyone know if being rooted would be a problem? should i "unroot" for the OTA upgrade?

I haven't installed any custom roms, just using root for WiFi tether

If you are only using root for WiFi tether, I don't think there would be an issue. But I would say to be on the safe side, unroot. Take it for what it's worth since I don't have a lot of info regarding rooting since I have never done it.
