Froyo leaked for the Incredible

Ok so if I have stock 2.1 running on this w/ no root do I need to do anything other than install the new one? Or do I need to install the radio update?

Does anyone have the command line codes to enter to remove VZ Navigator? I don't like the idea that there is an app installed on my phone that any dunce can easily activate and end up costing me $10 a month until I discover it.

once you have adb shell (#) type this command

cd /system/app

That will show you all the apps in your system/app directory.

then type this command:

/system/bin/mv Your_APP.apk Your_APP.apk.bak

In this case, your_APP.apk is probably something like VZNavigator.apk

Assuming you have the android SDK installed and placed in the root of your C:\ drive, run the command prompt then type this:

cd c:\(name of your android sdk folder)\tools
adb remount
(should say it succeeded)
adb shell
(should put a # there after you type adb shell)

and I am only assuming because seeing as you're in this thread about flashing the 2.2 leak, I'm assuming you have the sdk and you know how to do this pretty well.

EDIT: If you don't know what I'm talking about, instead of asking questions, visit this. It's like the Incredible Bible. You're welcome. :)

Incredible,

Where did you get the regular verizon update.zip - I did a search at XDA, but lost.

Thanks,

Steve in CT

Once you go back to stock, then boot up, make sure you are connected to the internet. Go to Settings/about phone/ system updates. It should either be downloading, or be done downloading already. Then just install that, it should take you to a recovery screen, then install, then will boot back up. Now is the time to install the leaked ota, renamed as update.zip. Hope this helps

/system/app doesn't exist. I can get into system, but when I do "ls", all that is in there is "ls" and "bin". Any other way?

Edit: see later post. I didn't mount properly.

I added the radio ota, then installed the froyo. seemed to work fine but my gps stopped working with google maps, went back to eclair and gps started working again. anyone have this issue? may only be me so don't freak out anyone, can't seem to find anyone else with the issue.

I am at the point where the reflash tool is saying

"waiting for device. Plug phone in now and enable USB debugging"

debugging is enabled. any idea why this won't recognize the device?

I have restored to the image, but when I try to update through recovery it boots to an ugly screen with a red triangle and a red arrow that is pointing down. Has anyone had a similar issue?

Thanks,

I just waited and it rebooted after that.

OK. So maybe I haven't been waiting long enough. I will try again.

Thanks.

runs great! Had a problem with contacts syncing from my google account but just waited a few minutes and eventually it came back.

Press volume up + power and it should take you to the recovery menu where you can reboot.

So did you get it working?

I could understand why you are sleepy, it took me till 2 in the morning last night.

Yes I did thank you. I was up until 1 a.m. and that was after fighting with the phone all day just to get root. Only to later discover this leaked update and thus had to spend forever to UNroot so I could install the ota update. I sure learned a lot in the process though :p

I installed the radio update (Baseband version 2.05.00.06.11), and everything went fine until I booted up the phone. The phone would boot up fine (with the new DROID boot animation), but it would be stuck at the "Loading" pop up. The phone's radio worked fine, and the notification bar worked, but the home screens wouldn't load. I did a factory reset and wipe, and everything works fine now, but now I have to reload all my apps and settings :(

Unrooted DInc here
