FroYo Over The Air Update. Who Has It So Far? Check In Please

Received the update in Columbus, OH. Too early to tell if things are working OK.

Things are working great. I have not found anything that doesn't work as advertised.

Just a couple of points about the distribution algorithm: it's not solely based on your serial number, order of purchase or geographical region.

Think of your serial number as one variable in a larger load-balancing equation.

Google co-locates servers inside Sprint's firewall. Your phone is listed in a queue at one or more of these servers. A load-balancing equation figures out when to push based on both your place in the queue and the load on the backbone between that server and the access point at which your phone is currently registered.

If you have the first and only Epic out in the boonies, you may be first in the queue, but the backbone serving the boonies may be overloaded with Angry Birds until March. If you have the 50,000th Epic registered at a cell site connected by multiple T1s directly to a regional data center, you probably have it by now.

If not, keep your PRL and Profile up to date and hold perfectly still.

Got it this morning.
All seems well.
Need to figure out how and what to move to sd card asap per the phone.
Gotta play with it some to know more.

Ok, an update, ran a little choppy for a while and needed to reeboot a few times then everything ran fine, no problems with sd card media, pics etc. all working well, It cleared my buddies screen so I had to again tap to add buddies but that is a painless process and only took a minute max. All in all runs smoother, I like it all except for the ugly messaging icon, wish I could get the old green one back.
Wife missed the update I guess...lucky me!!!

I keep getting asked every 15 minutes if I want to update..... Some people want the update, I wish it would stop lol

Is anyone getting their update in the mid afternoon or early evening? I'm wondering if they are only pushing the update in the overnight hours to keep their networks from bring overly saturated.

Great Question, Anyone? It does seem that a lot of users are getting the update through the over night hours. It would make sense there would be a lot less load on the system in the middle of the night.

my neighbor at work got it around 8am this morning. but i agree that most stuff seems to happen overnight or early in the morning. however each night i did notice i had a samsung update service running around 11pm-12am central time

APP 2 SD in the Market. [Free] & [Pay]

Try that, it is my favorite app for moving anything (and I am in no way affiliated with the application). If you want to move everything that allows, it can do that. If you wish to retain widgets, keep in mind that moving the app to the SD card will break (not for good, only while that app has been moved to the card) the link to the widget.

Just got it...

Seems to have gone without a hitch...but...font on messaging is really tiny...can I fix this?

This is for over the air downloads only. Anyone get it yet?
Yes, I received the notification yesterday morning at about 9 am and by 9:25 was running 2.2.1 via OTA update.

For the most part, everything is awesome, Flash 10.0 etc.

Had problems with calendars not in sync after update. I deleted both Gmail accounts and set them up again. cleared cache, etc. finally ended up taking phone back to factory defaults and setting up again, now okay.

Only other problem I am having is with voice dialing from BT - works great with my old, Motorola 721 BT earpiece but not with brand new Plantronics Pro+ - after a couple hours reading and trying things and an hour on the phone with Plantronics (not a nice experience) I am going to take this Plantronics back to BB and get something else.

I live in suburban Detroit.

Just got mine in LA at 10:20 am.

The first problem I'm noticing is that my calendar is not syncing. I've restarted it, toggled airplane mode, manually synced my calendar, yet most of the items are not appearing. Any suggestions?

My OTA update just popped up on my Epic at about 11:40am, Central time zone here in Texas.

Nothing for me so far in Manhattan, NY! But my younger bro, who just got his phone a few weeks ago, got his this morning! I got my Epic on release day!! What an insult!
