[FullHDMI] Official FullHDMI discussion

I thought I was the only with with the chipmonk voice problem, I first had it when I ran MikG Beta 3 and RC1. I never would have thought that they were connected to this app. I had used the app earlier in the day and then exited out and made a phone call and had it happen. Have not tried it with the new MikG v1.01

Confused

New to the forum - Very interested in pushing powerpoint through hdmi - after reading this - I'm no tech dude - I'm confused as to what I have to do - the actual steps - to get the full hdmi ap and get it running. Help please! Thanks.

I'm so bummed. I just discovered this app, but all the comments in the market say that it doesn't work with 2.3 Gingerbread. WAH! Does anyone know if it is going to be fixed/updated to work with unrooted 2.3? I wish I never updated.

@rstwalsh1
To get this app running, all you would have to do is install the app on your 2.2 Froyo (if not rooted) device, buy a hdmi to mini hdmi cable and viola. Now if you want to use the whole screen in 720p there are ABOUT three steps,

1. Root your phone (which is an easy process thanks to theunlockrdotcom
2.Flash a custom rom (which is an easy process thanks to theunlockrdotcom I use myn's Warm TwoPointTwo (RLS 5) rom and it works BEAUTIFULLY.
3. Flash one of Netarchy Toastmod 4.3.4 kernels, I use cfs-havs-more-sbc. (Which is the same process of flashing a rom)
4. You are ready! This might seem overwhelming but just go to the site that I mentioned above and you'll be fine.

@jbrooks544
The only way to use fullhdmi with gingerbread is to root. If you want to stay unrooted, just wait for the update. Im pretty sure Orrebmas is on it as we speak. Dont worry, hes a great developer.

I need HTC's sources to make it work for 2.3.3. I think they added some HDCP security for content over the HDMI port which was de-activated before, but there is no telling until they comply with the GPL and release their code.

Work will be cutting me back to 4 days a week (at my request) in the next couple weeks. Once that happens I'll be able to help you to get things fixed once source is released as well as getting the site up to date.

Netflix is now working, I think its more than the kernel that is making full hdmi not work properly, any thoughts, plus there is no way to root android 2.3.3 on the evo. i can't either revert it back back to froyo 2.2, I took it to a sprint store and no luck. Please keep us posted if there is any news. Thanks.

The update addresses issues with Netflix which are not related to FullHDMI. FullHDMI needs access to the HDMI port and that did not change from the first 2.3.3 release. I am still watching for HTC's source code release, as soon as it happens I will be able to tell what changed and assess how long it will take to make FullHDMI work again.

New to the forum.. First off, thanks for this incredible app! Since the 2.3.3 update I've read this entire thread and have gained a great appreciation for all of the hard work and time you have put into the development of this app. Thank you greatly, w/o full hdmi my EVO was just another phone!
I've noticed a lot of discontent in the comments on the market regarding the problem with the 2.3 update. Apparently, (sadly), people can't seem to read. So I wanna do my part to help compensate for the idiocracy, so to speak, of the ungrateful folks leaving negative comments.
I've called HTC with the intention of demanding they release the source code (?), of the kernel running this newest update. Unfortunately I didn't get very far, although did have a nice convo with a Canadian c/s rep.. My question for you is, do you know of exactly who or what department to contact to voice the issue to Htc? I changed my market comment telling others if they want full hdmi to work with 2.3.3 they need to call HTC and demand they release kernel info..
Any help would be appreciated, and used to bug the crap out of HTC... It's the sqeeky wheel that gets oiled first, right?
Once again thanks for the killer app, (with I hadn't updated w/o researching first! Lol

Have you updated your kernal to one that supports HDMI mirroing like netarchy's 4.34?

I wasn't aware that there were any custom kernels available for gingerbread yet. I thought I read everyone was waiting for HTC to release the source code first.

Re: [FullHDMI] Official FullHDMI discussion -- NOW WITH UNROOTED

There are no custom kernels for gingerbread.

Flashing netarchy will mess things up because its a froyo kernel.

Re: [FullHDMI] Official FullHDMI discussion -- NOW WITH UNROOTED

Any ROM based on HTC's Gingerbread code breaks all HDMI mirroring (this includes ports like Misfit's Shift port). Until HTC releases source and HDMI mirroring devs have had the chance to go through the code, do not expect HDMI mirroring to work unless you are using CM7. In a word, HTC broke it and again the devs are left to fix it. For those that are not running the OTA, my suggestion at this time is to consider CM7.

Re: [FullHDMI] Official FullHDMI discussion -- NOW WITH UNROOTED

I did an install in my car based on hdmi out working. It stopped working after gingerbread update. Worked on CM7 nightly 72 and stopped working somewhere in the 90s. I was never able to get hdmwin to work. If i go back to CM7 stable Full Hdmi should work again? Is there a place I can still download and install the program? Thanks.

Oh, didn't know you were on gingerbread.

Re: [FullHDMI] Official FullHDMI discussion -- NOW WITH UNROOTED

This isn't showing up in the market for me anymore, did this get pulled? reflashed while away on vacation and the backup I had apparently became corrupted. :'(

Google has decided to pull the app out of the market because of all the user complaints it received about it. They have not sent me any emails about the take-down, nor they are responding to my emails.
I clearly stated in the description that I can make FullHDMI compatible with HTC's GB after they release their source code, which they have not yet. This is how it was possible to bring it to Froyo and it is the only way to fix it for GB.
For those who need to redownload the app and cannot because of the take-down, I have uploaded the apk here: FullHDMI_1_4_0_beta. This was the last build I had of the app and was in the middle of creating a widget when the whole GB issue came up.

If you would like to see FullHDMI back on the market, please send an email to Android market (android-market-support@google.com) asking to reinstate the app.

Thanks.
