[FullHDMI] Official FullHDMI discussion

I believe in this app and when it works it rocks. Just having some problems with it freezing the phone about 90% of the time. Have a stock rooted rom with sense. Paid loving and supporting the app. Fyi, sony lcd tv.

FullHDMI uses 8% max of the cpu as of ver 1.01. It cannot freeze your phone, there must be something else going on.
BTW, the next update will drop the cpu utilization to 3% max.

When ever I stick the hdmi cable in 90% of the time the phone stops responding without taking the battery out. When it works it's great. I'm just trying to figure out what else I need. This app is what I've been waiting for. Again Running the latest stock rooted sense rom. Thanks.

Try this:
1. make sure the app and service are off.
2. plug in your cable, does your phone recognize the cable?
3. start gallery and play a video/slide show, do you see output on the TV (all while FullHDMI is off)?

so I ran a video and pluged the hdmi cable in with the input on the tv set to that hdmi input and the phone just stops responding to all touch except the power button and it requires removing the battery. Trying different scenarios and will report when I find a consistent way.

more info: fullhdmi was off. just loaded a normal video. plugged in the hdmi cable. and the phone freezes. never had a problem before. fullhdmi works about 10% of the time so just go to keep trying.

Have you tried more than one TV? As I've documented before here, there is ONE specific set my Evo does not like or vice versa. Try it on a different set if you access to one and see if you get different results. The symptoms you describe happens to me every time on a 40 inch Sony Bravia. As soon as the TV and phone are joined through the cable whether anything is running or not, I get an immediate reboot that cannot be cured until a battery pull. Tried on a multitude of other sets with no issues whatsoever.

(3/21/2011 follow up)
I just wanted to follow up that I became suspicious of my hdmi cord so ordered a new one and it works perfect now. I would totally recommend this app!

I have a stock HTC evo and can not get the service to start. I just bought this off the market. Help please.

Just want to post some info.

I was running a demo on an HP 22" LCD screen with the HDMI to DVI adapter.

Worked great, but a few hiccups.

When the screen on the EVO sleeps, the hdmi/dvi signal is lost. I have to click the apply and restart button to reacquire on LCD screen.

I would get the the HDMI cable disconnected error and would not start the service, if I removed, quit and reconnected the hdmi cable. It seems to have killed the hdmi service, because I would not get the hdmi cable connected system notice at all. Had to do a full reboot to get it started again.

I had the audio not come back to the phone without a reboot.

I am running the 1.01 market version.

I don't have an HDMI/DVI setup to test on. Hopefully somebody else does. Other than than that how has you experience been?

This market version fixed the clipping on my Samsung tv.

It is a bit odd sometimes when starting the service. Sometimes have to click the button twice, but still comes on anyways.

Very good for what I use it for! I have played FPse on it too. Works as fast as the phone can the frame rate to.

Yeah the service can be a bit touchy here and there still. Have you tried one of the customized kernels to see if the audio issue is affected? I haven't tinkered too much with them yet, but I know it plays a bit nicer when it has it's proper hardware backing, and the kernel offers some audio support as well.
