[FullHDMI] Official FullHDMI discussion

Have you tried first starting your Slingbox program, THEN starting FullHDMI? I noticed that for some reason, it "Slingbox" does not start when FullHDMI is running. Once started, go to FullHDMI then long press the home button to get your most recent apps, tap Slingbox and it should reconnect without issue. If Slingbox does not start this way for you, reboot your phone (hot-restart will work) then start Slingbox and follow directions as above.
was even worried about mirroring at this point. Thanks anyhow.

Maybe I did not make myself clear... thanks for trying, but I was running fullhdmi beta using warms2point2 rc5 and the original accelerated kernel
that Sam gave out to use the ubutu hdmi savage whatever:cool:. Well all was fine here (I know, if it's not broke why fix it) after a while and giving in to the hype I decided to try nets accelerated kernel http://qap.la/~netarchy/netarchy-toastmod-4.3.4-cfs-havs-less-nosbc-universal-signed.zip and it prevented sling app from logging in over 3g... had some other unstabel side effects also. It would also FC never had the app do that. Funny thing also after updating PLR, profile nothing seemed to help.
So I flashed the original kernel back same problem. I even flashed a nandroid
backup of a ROM from way back and it still plagued the device. I then did a factory swipe reinstaled a fresh version of warms and it worked finally. It will be a while before I flash that kernel again I kinda like that slingbox it's my fav. app. Sorry for mispelles it's early and I need coffee:p

For me, I can't use the havs-less kernel. I only get about 14hrs of standby. On the havs-more I only drop about 10% every 8hrs. I've also go in and tune the kernel and governor using what I've learned over the years from Linux server builds. My phone also has a fairly low voltage floor, around 825mv, so dropping the vMin to 850mv (to be safe) is part of it. Seeing that I've almost 100hrs of testing just on FullHDMI alone my suggestion would be to try the CFS-havs-more kernel to start.

THANKS! Coming from you, that's a great recommendation!

I'm using netarchy-toastmod-4.3.4-cfs-havs-less-nosbc

BUT I'm running MikFroyo 4.4 ROM (sense based), not sure if that makes a difference.

Running fine here.

Just F.Y.I. I'm was running Myn's Z, stock "modified" kernal that was given at Fullhdmi Beta stage and everything was running great! I then purchased FullHDMI from the market and installed netarchy-toastmod-4.3.4-cfs-havs-less-nosbc, it ran okay for the first time, then no apps would update or install. So I rebooted my phone then it was bricked at HTC EVO 4G screen. :-\

There may be some valid complaints in the recent posts. That said, I'm not going to continue keeping a popular thread locked, until I've had a chance to investigate these further. There are posts that are currently hidden (not deleted). I will be reaching out to all of you to get the scoop. It might have been a simple oversight by orrebmas. If you don't know what I'm talking about, just skip over my post and carry on with the discussion regarding the topic at hand.

What he said only I was running warms2point2 read my post on the sling app.

I actually got Asphalt 5 to work using Net's 4.3.4 and any resolution. The Ashpalt 5 opening animation and video work through HDMI without FullHDMI started. After that the TV goes black, but the game continues to load on the phone. I waited till it was completely loaded and then held down the home button and selected and started FullHDMI hit the back button and it worked through HDMI. Hope this helps.

Seems I should have followed my own advise and investigated further. Yes Asphalt 5 does work when following the directions above. Once the screen went black I assumed the problem was there. Thanks for the tip.

Read This Before Posting: Last Warning

I asked you guys to drop this. If one more person violates the forum rules, they will be banned, without notice.

And it's time to review a post that I made a while back in this thread:

1.) When it comes to software, this is the only rule we enforce:

Illegal Activities - Do not post, link, discuss, or request warez, serials, ROM's, or illegal copies of intellectual property of others in the Android Central forums.

2.) One of the fundamental advantages of Android is the premise of it being an open platform. If you're a developer this can also be a disadvantage, in that someone could de-compile your application, see all the source code, and then do what they want with it. Unless you secure a copyright on your application; this is a risk you are going to have to take. I have absolutely no clue as to whether or not this is what happened in this case; nor do many of you.

3.) We are not going to get in the middle of he said/she said accusations, nor will we allow posts that are not conducive in nature. These posts will be deleted, and if necessary, infractions will be issued if they violate rules related to personal attacks, trolling, thread crapping, or not making relevant posts.

4.) This is an unfortunate situation. On both sides, of this debate, there appears to be a history of development, support, and credibility. Ideally, I would like everyone to participate. In fact, one of my top priorities has been to attract and support developers in the forums, and it's very discouraging when I come across something like this.

So, what I'd like to ask is that nobody makes another post related to who did or didn't give/take credit. This is something we cannot police. We monitor our forums, not others.

There was another thread opened specifically dedicated toward attacking another individual in this forum. I don't care how angry you are with someone - this is absolutely unacceptable - and I would take offense if anyone feels we are somehow being unfair by pointing this out. Get this argument out of the forums, and get back on topic. Check out IRC - as I believe there are no rules in the chat rooms.

Cory

P.S. - all of the nasty posts are being deleted and this thread will be watched closely by the mods.

one thing i wanted to check when it comes to which kernel seems "best"

right now i am using the "original" kernel that was posted when FullHDMI was originally released as a beta.

how does that kernel compare to the other kernels that have been benchmarked?

everything seems to be working 100% for me using that kernel since the beginning. what would be the advantages of going with a different kernel (except for possible speed increased as the benchmarks have shown)

are the drivers any different between the kernels?

Thanks!!

Being that this is was sent via PM from the OP [ON androidcentral] I do not think this is anything other than the truth for all to see. This is from your forums, and I would hope that the mods would police accordingly. I am not arguing about credit or anything else. The OP can have all the credit he likes.... I apologize if I am in the wrong, I believe I am following the rules as you outlined above.

The advantage would be that if you use Netarchy's kernel, you can use other features that the stock kernel with HDMI enabled would not let you use. Like overclocking the CPU and using wireless tether, for example. Also, Netarchy's has several kernel's that have HAVS, SBC, and other features that some people like/want, so if you do want any of those features, you would need to go one of Netarchy's modified kernels.

@spiicytuna: The "nick" is here. I'll be around, precious. You can count on that.

By the way - that picture that was posted earlier?

There is no way it could be authentic. The word F*uck is one of the words that's starred out by our language filter. It would look like this ****. Yet it shows up in full letters in the the screen shot. tsk tsk. The other problem with that picture, if you are the person who posted a screenshot of a message that was sent to you by someone else, um your name would show up in the upper left corner, not his o_O Not a very well thought out photoshop job. The only person that could have snapped that photo was orrebmas, which is not possible based on who made the accusation.

Now, back to the topic of HDMI. No more drama. Period.

My previous post was deleted because I added a comment to the end, but what I was saying is that with one of Netarchy's kernels, you have the benefits of being able to overclock the CPU or use wireless tether and other kernel enabled features that aren't on the stock modified kernel. Also, you can chose from a list of features like HAVS and SBC which are not cooked into the stock kernel, either.

720P still shows a refresh sync issue in the texture and game level tests in An3DBench. As far as everyday use, users will not see this but if you do please note this is in all HDMI apps I've tested. This goes as far back as the beta and without raw data to look at I'd venture to guess this is a bandwidth issue.

Hey Loki, these bugs were probably already mentioned but I cant seem to change to any other resolution than 720 which edges are cut off. If I try to change the res and start service over, it just goes right to the app drawer with the same res. Also, when I open up my browser, my tv flashes exactly with the satellite icon on top next to the gps icon, when its done loading, no more flashes. Help? I'm running Myns Z Rom and netarchy 4.3.4 more havs kernel.

Thanks

My TV cuts off the edges on all resolutions. MikZ lets me resize just fine... idk whats you have going on there. I also notice the flashing flickering in 720 when you have GPS on. I was playing with google maps and it is just fine in 720 without GPS on, but having it on makes the TV flash with every pulse the GPS icon shows in the task bar.

Also, everytime I stop service, it just takes me back to where I was before I entered the app and says service started, over and over again, no matter how many times I try to stop it. So when I try to force close it, I can't find it in the running app drawer, so I go to all apps, select it, and the force close button isn't active. So I unplugged the hdmi cable, uninstalled the app, reinstalled the app plugged in the cable and without even turning it on, I get instant mirroring as if it was always running. Strange
