Hello everyone, I'm looking into upgrading from my Moto G in the near future. I was just wondering which one would be the best option? They are both pretty low price on amazon and swappa (if I decide to go used route), and I just want to hear some opinions. Thanks!

I had G2 for almost a year, and now I have G3. Both are awesome, so it's a win-win situation for you, but I would still recommend G2 to anyone..
Reasons:
- Incredible battery efficiency and 30% longer SOT
- Completely lag - free experience
- Awesome display, more friendly to eyes then the one on G3
- With Cloudy ROM G2 gets G3 look and feel.

Don't take me wrong, G3 is better in almost every way on paper, but in everyday use G2 just performs better. It fits better in hand and in pocket, it is superfast, and considerably cheaper...

I had the G2 for a year, then I changed cell providers so I decided to get a G3. They're almost the same regarding battery, lag, & total performance for me, both have been fantastic in every way. I don't think you could go wrong with either.

The G2 is a magnificent phone. If you favor a smaller the device it'd be my pick.

That's a good point, the fact that the G3 is a little bigger was the only thing I wasn't sure if I'd like by going to the G3, but it's not a lot bigger so I've gotten used to it now.

I have both and love both. Wifey carries the G2 and I carry the G3. Either are excellent options and I doubt you'd be unhappy with either. For me, I carry the G3 because I wanted the bigger screen and the replacable battery. Otherwise I'd still have the G2.

I had no issues with either phone, as far as I'm concerned they're both great. I only changed to the G3 because I changed providers & figured I might as well get the newer version.

I've heard nothing but positive things about the G2. Right now you'd probably be just as well off with either, but the G3 is more future proof.

I think that it depends on your carrier. I had the G2, and now the G3. Both with AT&T, and both excellent. I would choose the G3 though, because of the replaceable battery, and the additional external sd card. Good luck, either way.:p

G2 - no SD card, non-removable battery. That takes it off my list of possibilities immediately. When no one makes a decent phone with a removable battery and an SD card slot, I stop buying new phones. (I'm 73, so I can probably do that. My 10 year old V-551 still works just fine.)

Hey, i had a V551. I think that it was before i got my Moto Razr V3. If the 551 works for you, keep it. Technology has advanced a lot since your phone, but i wish that i had it in Vietnam. HaHa.:p
