Walked in to Best Buy to do a preorder and was told there was no reason to. He opened the cabinet and there were PLENTY of Note 3's available (Sprint). Also said the watch was in the back.

Pre-ordered Note 3 from BB and picking up Gear as well. Wish I could just go pick it up today, knowing they have them in the store!

Meh, the most often cited drawbacks of the watch are price, compatibility, and not waterproof. I'm not too concerned about the price, my Note 3 will be in hand tomorrow, and I can't remember the last time it rained here (and don't plan on dunking my wrist in water while wearing the watch.

I enjoy being an early adopter. I've also not seen anyone mention a big selling point in my eyes, which is the fact that this watch will allow me to keep my huge Note 3 in my pocket more often.

The Gear definitely won't move many units initially though. I'm buying it because I see value in it.

The rubber forms well around the wrist so it feels pretty good, Though I'm not usually a watch person but I like it. Didn't really notice a rubber smell when I opened the box

The reviews are really negative on this and while I don't take reviews at their word (biased opinions they have) it did give me pause on this since its $300 for something that literally may not be useful without some software updates. I want to see what its like based on a real world users daily use.

Well now that T-Mobile has it with a FALLFUN30 30% off accessories code its now $209 so much more reasonable. Thinking about it again, but BB did NOT have any in my area and I need to play with it first.

This device is simply amazing. I picked up mine today and I just enjoy it.

Is it needed? Probably not. But then again what device or component do we have that is really "needed?"

Having it means I can put my phone down at home and walk around the house and not have to worry about missing a call, text, or email. It simply eliminates the need to carry my phone always. The screen is nice and smooth and it looks so nice and stylish.

If you can afford it I would encourage you to pick one up. I'd be surprised if you regretted it.

A few of the Best Buy stores in Maryland had it. I also went to one AT&T store that said that they had it in stock.
