I called for my wifes phone, and they said she would only get $50 off for the NE2. The Rep has not heard of the $100 discount for upgrading 3g>4g. She stated that it was probably individual vzn stores/retailers that offer that discount. Im located in norcal.

Call again to get a different rep, yours was clearly uninformed.

I called and talked to a woman who hadn't heard of the promotion (surprise!), put me on hold for 10 minutes, then transferred me to a "verizon marketing" person in the west. He told me he couldn't find anything like what I was describing and told me the code doesn't exist... I live in the Seattle area. I will try again when the phone is released...

I called, and got a CSR who sounded less than enthused to be dealing with this promo. She said I was eligible, but that I would probably have to call back to take advantage of the promotion. She asked which device I was interested in, and I replied that I was holding out for the Galaxy Nexus. An audible sigh was detected. I tried to lighten the mood by joking about them probably being tired of all the calls on that phone, but she wasn't having it. So I wished her a good day and hung up.

So we'll see. I have the world's worst luck with things like this, so I'm doubtful it works for me unless I get the card in the mail. Living in Indiana, I'm as Midwest as it comes, so here's hoping.

As Bass Ackwards as Verizon is with this, I would just tell people to try and try and try. $100 plus your NE2 is a nice savings and worth the effort to get.

Definitely agreed. I'll put up the good fight when I'm actually able to buy, which is Friday. I was mainly hoping to have them flag my account with it, but it doesn't sound like that happened for me.

Don't forget that you can just have the Galaxy Nexus cost charged to your account instead of coughing up $200 or $300 right away... it is the holidays... You can have up to $400 charged to your account if you didn't know that.

I did catch that in another thread somewhere, but I don't like the sticker shock showing up on my monthly statement. I got my Christmas bonus early, so I've got the coin for it. It would just be nice to save as much as possible. Appreciate the advice - never hurts to reiterate useful information.

When you call a big business like that the rep should be cheerful and happy and eager to please.
That stuff irks the hell outta me. Its like you're bothering them.
Hope the call was recorded and she gets yelled at.

Just got off the phone. The guy said he found The promotion and talked to his supervisor and I don't qualify. Told him I was adding a line when I get The nexus he said if I go through him he would credit my account $50. He's gonna call when it's available.
