Galaxy Nexus $199

so I've posted on this thread a few times about how I was told I qualified for the $100 discount by 2 different people at Verizon, but when I placed my order online it didn't show up, when I called to inquire they told me I wasn't available and whatever that nice gentleman did to make it available for me was NOT allowed so I didn't get that discount after all... here in Oregon :'(
Who did you call?? I tried calling CS and it said they were closed.

Yep I hear you, this is my 3rd online rep and he seems to be the only one actually trying to find it and helping me out so I will see if it works for me. Yesterday 3 diff reps said yeah your in the midwest, it works, I will add it to your account and bam, nothing.

REALLY GOOD DEAL! Get the galaxy Nexus for 174.99

I found this and bought immediately! I hope its not to good to be true (Like that "Model" I met that stole my wallet after a back seat hand-job.)

1: go to Cell Phones from wireless carriers Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon Wireless, BlackBerry

2. Select galaxy nexus. It will be listed at 229.99 because of whatever wacky stuff these guys roll into their tobacco. You can get this price if you are starting new service. If you are eligible for upgrade thru Verizon, it is 249.99

3. After you "Go to Checkout" you will go through a "select what you want" process like any online store. Finally, you will get to the Proceed to Checkout area. Under Data, Text & Services make sure to select "Add/Edit Services" and Select Upgrades Only. This will allow you to keep your unlimited grandfathered Data plan... Sweet.

4: Now for the magic. Below your checkout will be a Coupon code. If you followed my link there should be a 25.00 off code already entered. Delete that. in its place put $75vzn

BOOM!!!! You now can buy a Galaxy Nexus for 174.99

You can bypass my link if you are mean, and go directly to the website at Cell Phones for free with Cell Phone Plans from Verizon Wireless, T-Mobile, Sprint, and more

If you do that I don't get a 25.00 referral credit for every phone you guys buy. Sorry if that makes me a troll, but Considering I found the deal, and they offer referrals, would it kill ya to help me afford a dock for my new Galaxy Nexus? Help a brother out by going to the link Cell Phones from wireless carriers Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon Wireless, BlackBerry if you are going to buy.

PS. Yea, I have never posted on this board before. I have been a member for over a year tho... I just obsessively check AndroidCentral.com and never post in forums. So sue me.

Thanks for new new dock for my phone. I ordered a Nexus from these guys last night, so lets hope it's not to good to be true.

Beerbaby.

[EDIT] BTW I am pretty sure this promo code works for any Verizon phone on the website, so if your Mom or Grandma or little sister (Who loves Justin Beeber btw) wants a discount on a iPhone 4s or a... I dono... LG Chocolate? I am pretty sure this works for those to. Or any other Verizon phone. Just saying.

That LetsTalk deal almost had me until I saw the coupon was for one-use only. I ordered through VZW and got the upgrade discounts there, $199 and $249 for my wife and I.

That... Doesn't make sense. You can get the phone for 250.00 from lets talk, and get the other for 174.99... Hell, just for you I will give you the other promo code for 25.00 off... 25RAFLTC

LOOK, I AM GIVING AWAY ALL MY SECRETS! I AM CRAZY!

Now you can buy one your you and one for your sweet... sweet... lady and get a 75.00 discount on one and a 25.00 discount on the other, and still pay less then your wireless corporate overlords deem correct! Pretty cool right? I feel like Donald Blake right after he figured out that the crummy stick he found in a cave turns him into Thor. That's right, I feel blond and Nordic right now.

So a no go for the discount. Was told its only for specific numbers even though I have a note, I'll be calling the loyalty dept to vent.

Bit confused on how LetsTalk works. If I go through the process like you're saying (and thanks for the tip btw) I HAVE to select a plan with minutes and features. The one currently on my account is not listed there, so I have to select something else. If I go through with this, will it actually change my plan and screw up any grandfathered features I currently have? All I want to do is upgrade a phone, not change my plan >< Is that possible?

Thanks for any help!

I called twice. The first rep got in touch with a Supervisor and gave me a stern "no we aren't offering any discounts like that direct."

Call number 2 found a very friendly service rep who looked into it. She spoke to a Supervisor who said the discount is based on your address. If your address falls within a designated 4G market, the discount can be applied. If it doesn't fall within their boundries for their 4g markets, you probably won't get it.

Just spoke with the loyalty dept. They said the discount could not be applied, its a MIDWEST promo only etc etc. but gave me 2 months of free service FWIW *shrug*

SMH.. Verizon running a 3G to 4G promo for a certain region is kinda BS. I had a feeling that wouldn't work out how we all thought it would. There's no rush for me to get this phone then, hoping Verizon will run some type of sale before the end of the year.

Just chatted with a rep online. This was towards the end of our convo...she thought it was just for the Nexus, and then I explained...

it wasn't specific for the Nexus, just when you make the switch from a 3g phone to 4g lte for the first time

Cecilia: That does not show in our systems at this time as well.

Me: Ohh. Well i might just wait on upgrading then

Cecilia: I understand completely. However please keep in mind the high demand for this phone. Right now it is selling heavily online and we carry the highest inventory amount for phones. There are customers purchasing this phone for 5 line accounts as well! So when the phone is out of stock within a few hours, I am sorry there will be a delay as well as no recent restocking date at this time.

Me: Ok, thanks for letting me know. I might just stop in to my local verizon store and get one.

Cecilia: I understand. Good luck at your local store as well. We have gotten in reports of lines as well as stores only having in a few of the devices. Also pricing and deals online do not transfer over, so you can end up paying up to $100 for a phone and dealing with a mail in rebate if they have a rebate for the phone at that time. Are there any other questions or concerns I can try to help resolve?

So are they just hyping this phone since there hasn't been any type of promoting for it, and pressure you into buying through them? hahaha

The online reps are the lowest on the totem pole in more aspects than one. I'd keep calling and avoid them.

Well - it is a little after 9am EST - did anyone NOT in Chicago area successfully get the $100 discount in a VZW store?

I still have low hopes for success, but being in the midwest is hopefully something I have in my favor right now.

The few people I've seen talk about it have said they couldn't get it. Maybe since you're in the Midwest it'll work for you. Also it supposedly automatically applies to your account by knowing your # or address.

Well - I will be heading over there for the 10am opening. I will share my results! Fingers are crossed.

I'm at the store now. It's supposed to be noted on my account. We'll see.

Where are you from (according to your billing address)? Midwest or other?

Ohio. So Midwest yes. Luckily . Still waiting for my turn.

Edit: she went to get a manager. We'll see

Edit; NO GO! Manager said he has no way to do it.

My (albeit grudgingly) congrats to all who were able to get it! I talked to five different reps at the 1-800-920-0204 Customer service number and the best I could get was one rep saying she would call me today and see about getting a (free?) accessory. We'll see about that. At least I still had a $50 NE2. A couple did say it was only in the Midwest with one saying only in Chicago. Even when I pressed them by saying a half dozen people on this forum said they were able to get it and were on the east coast they kept saying it wasn't available anymore. Oh well! I tried.:(

People where able to "get a note added to their account" but I don't think anyone has been able to actually get the discount applied.
