Galaxy Nexus $199

I called the customer service number posted in the thread, pressed 0, then said "customer service" at the automated part.

I told the CSR I had an original Droid and was thinking of upgrading over the weekend. I told her a couple of friends told me that there was a 3g-4g promo going on. At first, she thought I was referring to the 2g-4g free data upgrade. I explained to her that there were some fliers and internet reports that there was a $100 discount for upgrading from a 3g-4g phone. She put me on hold for a few minutes and when she came back, she said it was only for the Midwest. She then asked me what I was thinking of upgrading to and I told her the Galaxy Nexus. She then told me that if I upgraded with her on the phone, she'd be able to use my NE2 ($100) and could give me $10 off data per month for an entire year. I took that offer and ran. I made sure it wasn't going to switch me over from my grandfather unlimited data to the tiered data. She assured me I'd keep the unlimited data. At the end of the transaction, she read everything back to me, including keeping the unlimited data.

I figured it was useless to keep calling to see if I could find someone to give me the $100 promotion, especially with how I've read that the Verizon stores aren't honoring the CSR account notes. Plus, I figure that the unexpected $10 discount per month for a whole year will makeup for the fact that I'm not getting the immediate $100 3g-4g discount.

For the record, I live on Long Island. If you can't get the $100 promotion, see if they'll give you the data discount. It's better than nothing.

I ended up buying mine online since I have to work all day today & have meetings non-stop, so I called their Internet Orders number and the lady refunded me the $12.99 that I had to pay for shipping plus the $100 from going from 3G to 4G. So I ended up getting mine for $149!!!! So excited!!! :)

This is what I had to do as well. The in-store rep said the promotion wasn't for my account. I had gotten a note attached to my account a few days previous from the rep I talked to then saying I was eligible, so I called customer service. They were only able to get a $100 credit to the account, however, and not the $100 back on my card.
 
I was also promised the $100 off and I'm in NJ. Low and behold I called this morning to place my order and the rep never notated the account like she said she did so they wouldn't give it to me.

They offered to honor it if they emailed the rep and she confirmed she offered it to me. He also said it would take manager approval and the manager may not do it since it was a mistake and a promotion for Chicago area only.

Your supposed to be be prequalified for the promotion. The rep was suppose to follow through with me by 2:30pm but in fear of her not responding or possibly being off today I got impatient and called back.

The nice gentlemen I spoke to offered me $50 credit to my account for the trouble and offered to wave the early upgrade fee, free overnight shipping and send me a free $16 pouch.

I took the offer and was more than happy and thought it made up for the $100. It was better than waiting to hear back and potentially getting nothing off and have to pay the full $300, early upgrade fee, and for a pouch. I liked the free overnight shipping but 2 day is standard and free either way.

No luck. It was just noted and not applied to the account. Had it been applied to the account I think it would have worked. Called CSR and they couldn't do anything. So no joy.
 
Same here.. it was noted but I've talked to 3 different CSR's and none of them said they can help. Guess I'll hold off on ordering the phone and let other people figure out the bugs and solutions.
 
I just called my corporate verizon store about the $100.00 discount. I was told the promo was for new customers and only in the mid-west.
 
I spoke to 3 different reps on the phone & one via the sales chat. None of them were able to do anything for me. :'(
 
Yep I encountered the same thing. The verizon store I went to told me to go fly a kite and I called in to 2 different people and they both said they can't apply it after I was originally told it would work on my account. I hate verizon, I wish they could get their damn promos figured out.
 
Just got back from the store, myself. Same situation with me, the notation was made on my account, but the store couldn't (or wouldn't) do anything about it.

My guess, is that it was originally on my account last night, but Corporate probably went back through all of the accounts and deleted them for those not in the midwest that weren't really supposed to receive the discount. Bummer, would've been nice.

BUT, I do have the phone now! woo hoo! :)

agreed... it would be nice if they were clearer on those things since 2 people told me I was indeed eligible and it was noted on my account then denied!

Soo how's the screen? Some post says it wasn't any good. I have a Fascinate and the screen is awesome, looks like you did too? So comparison?
 
Hey guys it worked for me, I just left my corp store with my Nexus, Extended Battery, and a case (temp until Otterbox or Siedio comes out) for $290.00 ......... score for once in my life with these guys.....good luck!
 
It worked for me but my rep did something special. He couldn't specifically apply it so he took an extra $50 off the phone and then took another $50 off my next month's bill. After getting the phone I almost ran out of the store.
 
Bit confused on how LetsTalk works. If I go through the process like you're saying (and thanks for the tip btw) I HAVE to select a plan with minutes and features. The one currently on my account is not listed there, so I have to select something else. If I go through with this, will it actually change my plan and screw up any grandfathered features I currently have? All I want to do is upgrade a phone, not change my plan >< Is that possible?

I dono. I have 450 talk and text... Call them. they have customer service, just give them the code over the phone. I will be sad that I don't get the 25 bucks credit... but at least you will get the phone. I got my shipping email and was charged 174.00 so I just need to sit tight for a few days and I will be Pregnant with Nexus...
 
I will be calling telesales sometime over the next few days to make my order. If I tell them about the note and they aren't able to help me out then I will bi*** and complain until I get something. This is ridiculous.
 
I tried complaining to 2 different people once last night and again this morning. You would think since I had 2 people earlier in the week say I qualify and one guy even noted it on my account they would give me something but they wouldn't budge. I paid 299.99 :(

I will keep calling back until I get someone that does. Persistence is key my friend.
 
I'm planning on purchasing mine at Costco. How does this promo work? Does it put a $100 credit on your account so it can be applied toward the bill or does it only come off when you purchase a phone from the Verizon store?
