I had a thought, I always pay full insurance, never get a replacement... maybe I should with this one! May need to if they quit offering new for 2, or disallowing the grandfather plans for unlimited data like the posts are saying. AND not giving us our promised DISCOUNT!!!
 
I tried 3 different times and again during the purchases both online and over the phone and couldn't get it. all the reps said it was a mid-west promo only and even after telling them I knew people who got the promo here in CA they still couldn't/wouldn't apply it.. oh well maybe next time.

Also, one of the reps must have already talked to a few of us cause he knew exactly what I was asking about and trying to do. He mentioned that they were told to not apply it unless people were from that area and eligible. guess a few of you have still been lucky enough to get someone who didn't get the memo! :)
 
Hey guys it worked for me, I just left my corp store with my Nexus, Extended Battery, and a case (temp until Otterbox or Siedio comes out) for $290.00 ......... score for once in my life with these guys.....good luck!

I was browsing the VZW website this morning and they already had an Otterbox on there for the Nexus.

What are you telling the reps? The rep last night noted my account so I was gonna call up and go through with my order and mention the discount that should be applied. If they are unwilling then just complain about being deceived and how this isn't right. Rinse and repeat until you get a rep who is willing to help. I will not be purchasing this phone without some sort of discount and I will make that extremely clear to whomever I speak to.

I was never even able to get it noted on my account so you're one step ahead of me and should be fine. just go through the ordering process either on the phone or go to the store and when checking out say "I should have this so I want to confirm it's on there.." or something along those lines and it should all be fine, again I never even got it noted.
 
I dono why you guys are not trying the letstalk.com option I mentioned. Although they are backstocked now. BGR ran a piece on the 174.99 pricing, so I am sure they got about 10,000 orders about five minutes after the article ran...

for me it's because I was upgrading a month early and that is something that only corporate on the phone can do, or if you're lucky a store will still do. question about those sites though cause previously trying to upgrade my wife's phone they had the Incredible 2 cheaper but when I would try to check out it was acting as if it was wanting to change my plan.. I'm grandfathered in on a older family plan and have the unlimited data wouldn't you lose unlimited if you change your plan?
 
Hey I saw that earlier. I think the reasons I'm so hesitant to try the Let's talk are:

a) I will be moving from a family plan to an individual line fairly soon (probably almost immediately after getting the phone)
b) It didn't list a shipping date. It just said "Unknown".

I've waited so long that I'd AT LEAST like to have a target date for when I'd get the phone.

The store wouldn't honor the $100 off, but I called a CSR when i got home and she put it through for me...
Success! $150 Nexus!

I got denied at the store too. I was thinking about doing what you did as I was driving back to work. You gave me the incentive to try it!

Gonna call telesales now to make my order...they better honor this or get ready for a nice little argument
 
I called Verizon customer service last night and the rep looked up the CH4GE code for me. She said that I was eligible since I live in the midwest and she noted my account saying "3G to 4G upgrade discount".

Today, I go into the local Verizon store and the reps had no idea about the discount. They made some calls and looked up some information and came back with this: this promo is only valid for customers with midwest phone numbers (area code based) instead of actual home addresses.

I went ahead and bought it anyways with only the $30 loyalty discount. I was tired of waiting and it wasn't worth the hassle.
 
this worked for me. they added it when i called yesterday. but couldnt apply it at the store so they said they'd put a note that a 100 dollar credit should go to my account. i verified that with customer service and boom 199 nexus

No go. I'm in NJ. Rep told me that the note left on my account had no code whatsoever and only mentioned a discount for upgrading from 3G to 4G but that it was only for the Chicago area. Hang up, try again later. I find it funny that the only reps I've found helpful during this entire process were men.

The original CSR that put a note on my account was a woman, and I found out this afternoon the note was "customer inquired about 3G to 4G promotion, I told him I only saw a $30 NE2 discount". She told me last night she put that I was eligible for the $100 off. SMH

Also, all the telesales people want a screenshot of my verizon showing these phones for $249 instead of $299.

What I want to know is I'm wasting my time complaining and trying to get this discount when even if I convinced the rep to help me, the system won't let them give it to me anyway. Does anyone know the answer to this? If they can't give me the phone for $200 then I'm at least hoping they can give me a discount on my bill for all the trouble.
 
Sorry for the cross post, but wanted to share my experience here as well.

Went on line to attampt to buy. The 50.00 credit that the CSR told me I would get was not showing up. So I called CSR to try again to get the 100.00 credit or at least make sure I got the 50.00.
Ended up talking to a total of 8 CSR's with 4 phone calls over 2.5 hrs and multiple promises with no results. Each one was from a different dept. and they all seemed to have different deals that they could do. Tried Telesales so I could use my living social coupon but they wanted 299.00 for the phone and then my 30.00 loyalty discount. Online sales had me getting the phone for 249.00 and I should have gotten the 30.00 on top of that. I could see where I was entitled to it but they could not and she insisted it was included in the 249.00. price.
I finaly hung up on her and called telesales again. She couldn't give me the 249 price, but was able to see how the online was not recognizing the 30.00 discount so she credited my account the 30.00. Then I asked about free shipping. they had a page that the title said free 2 day shipping, but then the text said free overnight shipping. The order form was charging me 12.99 for overnight. So she then credited 12.99 to my account.
After I activate the phone, another CSR is supposed to credit my account another 50.00 based on an eariler phone call.
So I got the phone for 169.00 plus tax and I still have the living social coupon to use to buy an extended battery and other stuff!
I will have it all tomorrow. Well worth the wait! Hope it is worth the aggravation!
 
Just got off the phone with Verizon. Got the Nexus for $199 plus $20 early upgrade fee. She originally stated that it only applied to the Midwest. I stated that a friend received the promo that lives in Allentown, PA and they were able to receive the $100 discount. (Thanks to that poster on here :p) I live in York, PA.

She said that PA is a Northeast state so she didnt think it applied. After a minute or so she says wait a sec and puts me on hold. A few minutes later she comes back and says Im good to go. I tried to get the $20 waived and $30 loyalty discount but it was a no go. Oh well still got $100 off...

You just go to the options and change the data plan option to "Upgrade Only" which keeps all your old info (including the unlimited data plan, grandfathered) You do select a calling plan, but the ones they have are the ones that Verizon offers. Just select the plan you have. This threw me off at first, but then I called customer service and they said it's just because you have to confirm your plan when you upgrade. Verizon's website and reps do it automatically, but they have to ask you what you want because of the six month payment agreement. I have had VZN for over 7 years, and its the same talk and text plan that I started with. The only exception on the letstalk.com website is that you can not downgrade your plan or have your service suspended for 6 months, because of their contract with verizon. If you do its a 250.00 charge. Lame, and I didn't understand that when I ordered, but I don't plan to downgrade or get suspended until after June, so whatever.
