Galaxy Nexus LTE Speed Test Video - GN added to Indirect Stores

Re: Galaxy Nexus LTE Speed Test Video - GN added to Indirect Stor

Not so much. For me the case is not allowing VZW the possibility of accessing all my data and storing it on their server. It does impact my experience because every time I open up my app menu I'll see that ugly little red refresh sign with a lock in the middle....what a ing joke, a lock in the middle of an app that steals all my information and stores it on a VZW server (which btw if you don't opt out of VZWs marketing BS they may very well use this information).

Sadly then don't get a smart phone because they can access your data whether they have apps on it or not. Plus you can disable the apps and hide them and will never be activated and never track data.

Not when I cook my own rom, thanks though. They won't store my data, they may have access to some of it still, oh well.

Your own rom or not you are on their network so if they want they can track whatever data they want.

I can limit some of that, thanks for the heads up though.

OMG you might have to see a red lock?! Oh the humanity!

As for a company using your info for marketing purposes, you do realize android is a google product right? The same company that scans your email and gives targeted ads based on content. They do the same thing with your mobile device.

Verizon adding 2 apps to the phone doesn't take away feo
Your experience, and certainly doesn't make your mobile activities less secure.

First off, I don't use my gmail much, for a reason. I have corporate e-mail which I monitor and I secure. Even if google wanted to display me ads I do not see them, adblockplus, ghostery, noscript, and better privacy have all made my browsing experience so much more enjoyable.

Secondly, its about the principle, not about how it affects MY mobile experience. I am pissed off about the principle of putting a software that to inexperienced users can potentially pose a risk of handing off their personal contact, pictures, txt, etc to the hands of marketing firms. On all their phones, not just the nexus (but I so happen to want a nexus and as such my posts are most likely going to be in this forum).

All of this besides the fact that the nexus moniker is also suppose to be a bloatware free device, and I consider these bloatware.
