Hey Guys,

I picked up the Nexus last week and im starting to create a list of Tips/Tricks. Hopefully we can get a large threading going on everything we discover in the coming weeks.

On a side note I have to say that Ice Cream Sandwich is a dramatic improvement over gingerbread. Everything seems more streamlined and unified

I'll admit my noobness in here - I learned today how to create folders to clean up my main page(s). I kept seeing everyone's wallpaper photos with custom folders for everything, but didn't know how to make one myself.

Self-taught.

the Folders are great as a feature. I discovered another feature yesterday that I have not heard too much buzz around. (I have to give credit to a friend that told me about it).

When receiving a phone call you can now either Accept, Decline or send pre programed text message to the person. I have found this to be extremely useful to let people know Im on the phone.

trying to find out if there is a way to use Google Voice to send those SMS messages when you don't want to answer the phone... I cut off SMS on my plan because I only use Google Voice.

Long press on an app and drag it on top of another app you wish to make a folder with :)

For WiFi settings:
Under settings youll see "WiFi On/Off"
Touching the word "WiFi" will bring up the settings.

Saving battery:
No scientific backup here but many including me agree.
Settings>Sound>turn off screen lock sound and touch sounds

Holding down the power button brings up a phone options menu with options for silence mode, airplane mode, and power off.

Btw I'm an android noob

Does having GPS idle really take up battery usage? Same goes with NFC? I guess it wouldn't hurt but I'm just curious.

The homescreen has a big Digital clock and weather. Looks very much like my old HTC home screen.
Where can I get this digital clock and weather widget for the nexus?

Thanks in advance

It looks like it might be Beautiful Widgets or Fancy Widgets, both of which are in the Market.
