I keep my phones for the 2 years. Can't justify the price, assuming what I have is working as intended.
Ditto..well..more like 20 months until I nag VZW to allow me to upgrade slightly ahead of time, which they re usually good with. Phone tech does not seem to move that fast at the moment. I have no reason to be jealous of the newer phones that (have) come out other than useless benchmarks. Wake me up when Tegra 4 or the new A15 quad cores are in phones along with even larger camera sensors, batteries that last 2 days, and Android Jelly Bean preinstalled.
I just picked up a Galaxy Nexus so I'll let you know if an OTA magically appears.
Yeah, but the Amaze is on T-mobile, not Verizon. Verizon doesn't really care what the users want, they make their decisions based on their sole greedy interests.
You know, this makes me feel like I should just get the damn Droid 4. I'm at about 60% efficiency with touchscreen typing, and that keyboard feels damn good.
Also, you damn turncoat!

My original post was about the Verizon Galaxy Nexus. Unfortunately, doesn't look like that rumor had any truth to it either.

LOL go for it. I'm still hanging around here. Like I said, I haven't left the Rezound, just trying new hardware.
I've had an upgrade sitting on my family plan for about 2 years now, I'm considering cashing it in before Verizon bends us over with the shared data plan situation.
The problem is that I'm spoiled with the Rezound. The phone just simply works, the screen is God tier, and I've grown to really like Beats. Why doesn't HTC just release a slider? I have several hundreds of dollars waiting for them, but they don't wanna trade.
HTC might be out of the physical keyboard market. I would say Droid 4 but they're not worth the circuit boards they're printed on. Felt super flimsy like the slider was just waiting to snap.
Before this news release I was about to post "after the 4th of July holiday at the earliest (if ever)" in the infamous "ICS shelved" thread.
But now that they've declared that as a possibility, I will change that to after Labor Day (if ever).
Pleases don't sprinkle so much optomism on the possible release window.![]()
You guys are killjoying (killing joy? joy killing?) all over my ideal phone. Jiml, is the screen THAT bad in person?
The screen isn't THAT bad, but coming from a Rezound it's a noticeable downgrade. Noticeable enough I wouldn't do it, but that's just me. As far as typing, have you tried the SwiftKey beta? It's awesome. Basically removes the need of the space bar, which is where I make so many mistakes.
Sent from my Rezound
I actually thought the screen looked great compared to my old DX2 and even holds it's own against it's larger sibs. I'm not really partial to one or the other but I actually like using physical qwerty's but that slider felt like a Sammy, parts wise.
