Galaxy Note 20 Series, via OnLeaks.

Re: Galaxy Note 20+, via OnLeaks.

At least if I do decide to go ahead with the Note 20 I will have the carrier/provider discount to take the biggest sting out of it this time, ok it does mean that I can't pre-order but have to wait for the actual release but I'm ok with that.

Getting excited...

According to the current data, Note20 Ultra compares to Note10+:
The bezel on both sides are narrowed by 0.29mm.
The forehead and chin together narrowed a total of 0.4mm.
The hole diameter is reduced by 1mm.
The thickness of the fuselage is reduced by 0.3mm.

Those are miniscule differences but if that floats your boat by all means go for it.

It all adds up...

For one, to be thinner than the Note 10+ and not being any bigger than the Ultra... which was my main concern because I would not have upgraded if they went Ultra phablet... WIN.

But add...

SD 865 PLUS processor
120hz @ QHD
2nd gen FPS
Updated/Improved camera system...

I was so not looking forward to the Note after the Ultra was released not hoping for much but been pleasantly surprised.
Just me... but sounds more than miniscule.
I wish they made the Note 20 (Lite) as close to same spec as the + like they can the iPhone Pro and Pro Max but can't get everything ya want.

Re: Galaxy Note 20+, via OnLeaks.

Eh?

I'm outside the US. My Note 8,9,10+ - 2 Colour choices.

With usually 1 more released after launch sometime when us pre orderers already have our dull black ones. . Plus zero pre order incentives here.
Damn, wanted that copper Note 9 that was all over the unpacking event.

I had the copper N9, it was glorious! But I wanted the lavender/lilac purple that was released in the US so badly. Only settled for the copper when I couldn't get it. I truly hate that Samsung limits color choices to different regions. Annoying as hell.

As someone who is switching from the S series to the Note, should I go for the current Note 10+ that is already out and has reviews or wait for the Note 20? With what we know, how much of an upgrade is the Note 20 going to be compared to the Note 10+? I don't really do much gaming on my phone, mostly use it for storage/apps. I have a lot of apps. And of course, camera is pretty important.

Re: Galaxy Note 20+, via OnLeaks.

Because the August 5th press release on the Note 20+ is just around the corner, I would say wait and see what the official specs are as well as price and then decide.

Being a Note 8 owner I can say the phones been great and on the forums it's been pretty quiet = no major issues. I have a co-worker with the Note 9 and no complaints from him. And browsing through the Note 10 forums, it seems to be a well liked and solid phone. So I think it's safe to say that with every new gen... Note 8 to 9 to 10 each phone has been better than the previous and fingers crossed the Note 20+ should be a good phone.

But the changes haven't been so great between the years to justify, imo, upgrading if you have last years phone. When the 9 came out, I don't think it was that much better to upgrade from my 8. If you have a 9, I don't think it would have been worth it to get a 10. So if you have a 10+, I would probably not bother with the Note 20+

Since you don't have a Note, the Note 10+ is a real good phone and top on my alternate list so don't think you can go wrong with that and if price is a consideration then you might get a good deal and save much more money than on a Note 20+. I think this past week there were sales for $400 off the Note 10+ available so it's definitely something to consider. I don't think 5G is a big issue for a couple of years if I can get the 10 at a discount.

Me, if the specs sound good and usually the Youtubers will have had a Note 20+ for a week by the time it's announced on the 5th so we should get some early reviews to let us know if it sounds like a good phone... if the screen is good... if the camera is better than the Ultra or waiting on a software update that will be available at launch.... if it sounds like a solid phone, I'll probably go with that and willing to pay a little more than what I can get a Note 10+ for.

Re: Galaxy Note 20+, via OnLeaks.

Haha, chances of an incentive are somewhere between zero and feck all for us Brits. .

My first phones didn't have contracts. Sim only with effectively PAYG. I used to spend more then than I do now due to working all over the world - bills were quite often in the several hundred ( don't know if you can remember but Cellnet had a VIP team if you spent so much...)

Back then my team had a Motorola Sat phone. $11 a minute in 1997!

Wow, Cellnet! That takes me back. When the first text messages were sent they scrolled from right to left on your screen and it was really hard to read without re opening because you had missed some of it.

Re: Galaxy Note 20+, via OnLeaks.

Ha, I remember scrolling texts .

My wife was an early adopter too. She had a Motorola with Hutchison Telecom, the pre cursor to Orange. I remember it as you could put AA batteries in it when the battery died. .

Re: Galaxy Note 20+, via OnLeaks.

Not sure if this was out before, but it looks like the LPTO display supports the QHD+ resolution and the 120Hz at the same time for the Note 20. Read that from Ice Universe on Twitter.

Re: Galaxy Note 20+, via OnLeaks.

Yeah. Note 20+ only though by the looks of it. Although there should only ever be one note. If there is a "lesser" model, its not really a note as such. SPen aside.

Slightly jealous of the reported flat screen on the note light though.

Of course there can be more than one. Not everyone wants to buy the top end with all the bells and whistles.

Re: Galaxy Note 20+, via OnLeaks.

That should be the point of the note.

Agreed that it's way more blurred lines than it used to be. And following the S guarantees more stable mature tech.
Maybe it's a case of rose tinted glasses of the days when you wanted the best Samsung offered, you bought the note.

Now maybe with the experimental A series et al, its a bit more muddied.

And maybe choice is good. Ba, what do I know. .

Re: Galaxy Note 20+, via OnLeaks.

If dimensions are correct... A little bigger than the Note 10+ by a couple of mm taller and actually THINNER(?) than the Note 10+?? Woohoo!!

165mm x 77.2mm x 7.6mm (Note 20+)

162.3mm x 77.2mm x 7.9mm (Note 10+)

166.9 x 76mm x 8.8mm thicc (S20 Ultra)
I care more about weight than "thinness". I actually prefer the dimensions of the Note 10plus but if the 20plus is lighter...

Re: Galaxy Note 20+, via OnLeaks.

Or how about they go back to the true Note roots and put a rubber back like the Note 4 (which is alot of people's favorite iteration) and a flat screen, flat edges and cameras that don't stick out?

That way you don't immediately have to slap a case on the thing and you could actually feel the design!

Must be too much to ask!
And a 16:9 screen ratio. I watch TV shows and they are almost always 16:9. I would never watch a movie on my phone.
