So, I seem to be collecting cases. I originally got the Seidio Surface case with holster (that's what I had on my Note 2 as well), but wanted a tempered glass screen protector. Seidio made one for the Note 2, but has not decided if they will have one for the Note 3 (may not have sold well for them). I purchased a glass screen protector and installed it, but putting the case back on tore the protector right off the phone. I loved the feel of the case and the stickyness. So, I got Spigen Neo Hybrid and their glass screen protector. Loved the screen protector, loved the look of the case, hated the feel of it, the tapered edges make the phone easier to hold, so after just 4 days, I went a bought the Samsung S-view case. Loving the feel, like the fact the screen is protected, wish it actually protected the back, not sure if I will get used to the flip cover. I'll check back in, in about a week and provide an update.

Hope I don't end up spending more on cases than I did on the phone.

What protector was it? I have a mime and wanted the Seidio Surface to go with it.

Believe it or not, your note 3 will work with and without a screen protector.

didn't get a screen protector for my note 2 when I got it dropped the phone and the screen got scratched, and caused light to reflect off of it making the scratch very annoying. If I had a screen protector, I could have easily just replaced the screen protector. And sure it worked with the scratch, but it annoyed me every time I looked at the screen. On my note 3, I didn't want the same thing to happen and wanted to buy a screen protector right away, but the Verizon stor didn't have any. I was extra careful and got one a few days later

Smart man. I went without a screen protector on my note 2 and it got scratches. I have a good plastic scratch resistant one on and everything is working perfectly. No worries if my kid grabs my phone and puts in it her backpack with her rock collection.

I got the Bodyguardz, that's the one the Surface tore off. Now I have the Spigen. I also have a ilommie coming (thought it would be the first, and it's turning out to be the last). But a buddy is going to buy that from me.

I just put on my white slim armor case.....It looks nice, I bought it because amazon was running a special so I ordered one and got it in 3 days (today).

I am struggling with the new width of depth the case adds to the Note 3

I bought the black combo from Verizon on the day I got the phone because I refused to walk around with it naked. That case while bland did the job and did not add any size (depth or width) to the phone.

Two days later I stopped in an AT&T store and found and bought the Black S-View case....perfect fit (you take off the Verizon back), secure and looks nice. I think because I have been using the s-view case the slim armor feels uncomfortable in my hands....btw....I have large hands.

I am waiting for the day Spigen (fingers crossed) makes the slim armor view .....now that is the case that I want!

Do you happen to have a measurement of the thickness compared to the phone naked?

If you read the Samsung owners manual (first time I've opened one in forever) you'll find within the first few pages a statement from Samsung NOT to put a screen protector on the Note 3. I personally have never used one on any phone as they are quite unnecessary with Gorilla glass 1 2 and 3 anyway, look awful and ruin the experience for both viewing and S-Pen.

Just got the Spigen Slim Armor...nice looking case with some added protection. Good grip. But after having the case on, you can really tell the difference in weight. It does add some weight significantly.

My friend has the neo hybrid and it is grippy. It isn't tacky or sticky, but more like a slight texture so that it doesnt slide out of your hands. It was however far too thick for me. It takes away from the general slimness of the phone. That's why I went with this case instead. It's slim and also covers all 4 sides unlike the Spigen Air cases.

What kind of texture does this Rearth Ringke case have? Just smooth matte plastic (that could slip from your fingers)? Or is it rubberized and grippy too?

Did they say when it would be released? I'm assuming it's just a slim Armour with a flap on the front?

They did not give any dates. It was just a reply to somebody requesting it. It does have the s view functionality built into it. You can go to their website and checkout the version they made for either the S4 or Note 2. It looks pretty nice.

I remember acquiring a scratch on my GS3, and it was NEVER dropped, or put in the same pocket as keys, or coins, or anything crazy. Gorilla Glass or not, life happens, and so do scratches. It doesn't matter how careful you are.

The black is matte and soft touch. The white is just matte plastic and super smooth. Very little grip, just like the white Spigen Ultra Fit.

Thanks for the info. I assumed the black and white would have the same texture, but I guess not. I appreciate the warning (as my wife has the white note 3) and I was considering springing for one in each color assuming they had the same texture and grip properties.

Has anybody heard any updated time frames for the more heavy duty cases (Otterbox, UAG, Ballistic)?

Seems like they all keep pushing the dates further and further back. Now some places have said December for Otterbox. It seems like I'm going to have to get something else temporarily, though I hate to buy 2 cases. :/

I heard that if you drop the phone with a glass screen protector on it, the screen protector will shatter. Is that just the way it is, or do they offer some protection to the actual screen, ie shattering to protect the screen?

Most likely they shatter so you'll have to buy another set....
