Galaxy Note 4 will only charge when switched off.

Phone is 4 months old,if plugged in to charge while phone is switched on no beep sound or charging flash if plugged while phone is switched off large white flash comes on and off phone buzzes at 15 sec intervals but does charge.charger is fast charger that came with phone it works on several other phones we have tried it with.

Did you recently update your phone OS to Lollipop?

This problem occurred with my Note 4 a couple of days after the second lollipop update.
All you need to do is wipe the cache partition.
Google "how to wipe cache partition"
