Galaxy Note 8 Two Lenses Only one works?

I tried covering both lenses one at a time and switching between 1X and 2X.

The lens closest to the center is the only one that is working. When I cover the lens closer to the edge, I still get a picture in both modes. When I cover the one closer to the flash, I don't get a picture in 1X or 2X mode.

Am I missing something?

The longer lens is only used in very good lighting conditions. Any other conditions it simply will digital zoom (2x) with the wide lens
