I am stumped. My Galaxy S24U PlayStore will not update, and is stuck on v. 41.1.19-31. I am running Android v14 and this is what I have done:
Play Store - Clear cache/data and restarted
Play Store/Services - Clear cache/data, restart
Removed Google Account, Cleared both again
Disable app PlayStore/Services, Cleared both.
Repeated all steps in Android "SafeMode"
DeveloperMode > Running Services > Showed cached processes > Stop
Downloaded 45.6.19-31 .apk to manually install, but "conflicts with another installed version"
FACTORY Reset, and loaded backup via Samsung SmartSwitch.
Now, I am desperate enough to contact GoogleHelpDesk.... the extent of their "tech" consisted of clearing the cache/data and restarting (over an hour).
Shy of rooting my phone, uninstalling the playstore, and a reinstall; does anyone have any suggestions or a fix that may have worked for you??

Welcome to Android Central! Just to be sure, when you open the Play Store, tap your profile pic at the upper right, then Settings>About. Under Play Store Version, have you already tapped Update Play Store?

Yes, I forgot to mention that. I tried everything that I could Google and ChatGPT.

Why do u think there's an update for play store ? Is anything giving an issue?

You can try an update one higher then you currently have from here
The Play Store will not download nor update any currently installed apps. Through the settings the prompt says, "a new version of Google Play Store is available and will be installed", but when I click on it, it does nothing. Checking my other Android devices it is on v45 and this device is on v41, so apparently several updates have been missed. I did not think Google did incremental updates; however, is an option I did not consider to try.

The Play Store version on my Tab S9 FE+ is 45.6.19-31, so it's definitely behind (but I'm not sure if Play Store versions might differ depending on the device, even within a manufacturer).

Did you check if you have any Google Play System Updates? These are separate from monthly security patches or Google Play Store updates. Go to Settings>Security & Privacy>Updates>Google Play System Update, and see if that's up to date.

Status Update: No word from "Google helpdesk", never really expected it... PlayStore still wasnt working so I downloaded the "KillApps - Close Apps Running" .apk file and manually installed it. It has an option to view running System Apps, to include the Download Manager. I proceeded to clear all the cache/data here as well, and gave the phone another restart. Went back through the motions to update the PlayStore and it started! Well kinda. It hung on 0% and nothing... I toggled off the WiFi (unmetered) to my cell service, then back again to WiFi and it successfully updated! Tried 'update all' the out of date apps, and gave the same 0% status. Gave the connection another off/on, and now everything on my device is fully updated. Not the EXACT fix I was looking for, but it worked so I'll take it. If someone else reads this with a similar issue; I hope they will have better luck, or maybe what I did will help out. 👍🏼
