Galaxy S3 Screen Not Working?

My phone got wet and everything is turning on and seems to be working as I am still getting notifications but my touch screen stopped working. It was barely wet and I dried it right away and put it in rice for a few hours. It is carrier brand with Rogers. Please help me!!!!!!

A few hours is not nearly enough - two days is recommended, and longer is better. You also want to be sure that the container is sealed.

Galaxy Mega

My galaxy mega screen has stopped working. I tried turning it on and off and doing the actions that this website has told me to do but it still doesn't work. I think the crack cross my screen is the problem. I have one crack going through the middle of my phone from left to right. Anything above the crack I can touch it and it moves but if I try to type my password in to get into my phone which is below the crack nothing happenes. Its like the sensor on the bottom part of my phone is off or something. Should I get the phone repaired and a new screen or should I just get a whole new phone.?

It should be much cheaper to just replace the screen assembly - the sites below may have screen assemblies for your model (these links are for the S3)

Mine just stopped today, I plugged in my headphones and poof, it stopped working. I did the factory reset and still have the same issue. Very upset here, Do you think I will need to send it in or go locally?

If your phone is still under warranty then by all means send it back for repair. If it's not, you can use the links in the post above yours (or do your own Google search) and replace the screen assembly yourself.

Depending on where you live you may be able to find a local repair shop that has the parts on hand.

Hi there. I dropped my s3 and everything worked fine for a few hours and then the screen gradually turned from pink, to purple to black. Now the phone seems to be functioning (led lighting up, vibrating as if it's receiving messages) but the screen is just black. Is there anything I can do? :'(

Having same problem after installing Pre rooted vrbmf1 update on i535 gs3. Has to be something broken in rom bc i am able to pull battery and sim card wait 5 mins and everything goes back to normal.

Did your phone ever have the official 4.3 build loaded on it?

Can you provide a link to the build that you used?

The touch screen on my s3 is a little bit glitchy. The screen and everything looks normal, the volume and home keys s work fine howeever ill use my phone for a couple of minutes and the touch screen will stop working like ill touch something and its as if it wasnt touch screen. Ill then lock the phone and press the lock button and then it works again but for no more than 15 seconds and I find myself in square one. Another thing this started happening i would say like hours after i did the software upgrade.

Sounds like it's time for a Factory Reset - then you'll be able to determine if this is a hardware problem or not.

While you're at it, be sure to clear the system cache in Recovery mode.

You'll need to replace the screen assembly - if you want to DIY here are a couple of sources for replacement screen assemblies:

Sorry but I am just here to describe the solution for you if your galaxy s3 touch screen is not working which I already suffer and [Thanks to Allah] I've solved it.

First thing First let me describe my problem.
I had no problem with my Galaxy s3 except touch screen. As you understand, every thing was good except even not being able to answer my calls.

After reading several forms, I decided that problem was about hardware not software so I decided to open my galaxy s3

After I opened it, I saw a cable which comes from right top to right bottom and which was unpluged so I plugged it then my touch screen started to work.



I plugged in which emphasized with red, purple, green and black.

Why this came to me?
Maybe the reason is my magnet which is tested with my s3 by me
Maybe the cable was un-pluged because of this magnet

I saw a cable which comes from right top to right bottom and which was unpluged so I plugged it then my touch screen started to work.

Strange - the cable that you seem to be highlighting is one of the antennas.

The display works ok (you can see everything, you just can't touch anything)?

Hi All:
I also have a problem with my s3, it just has this line on top most of the screen but no display, still working, as i can hear it receiving messages. i tried to pull out the battery and try to restart and it opened normally. upon arriving at work it has the same line again on the display. could this be a software problem or lcd? thanks in advance!
