So. I'm not too impressed with the Galaxy S3 by any means. Hardware wise, it seems to be on par with a few upgrades like CPU and Camera MP. But it also has touchwiz vs. stock you have on the Nexus. I do like the idea of multi-tasking watching video and surfing the web on the S3.

But by no means is this phone leaps and bounds over the Galaxy Nexus.

Would you stick to the Nexus, or would you convert to the S3 upon release?

Quad cores don't impress me as i feel they are unnecessary. If you watch the demos, you still see noticeable lag in the Touch wiz UI. I do envy the camera, and some of the voice features. But the design is ugly and looks like a low end phone and i can buy a 2100 mah battery. So all in all, im underwhelmed by the S3, it's a great phone, but if it was on VZ, i'd still take the Nexus.

Although the SG3 is impressive I still love my Gnex a Little more!!!

The specs are okay. There isn't a huge difference honestly. Better/bigger screen (which can be a con to most) and a better camera. My Galaxy Nexus looks better anyways. One X >

Probably the only thing I'll be jealous of with these upcoming phones is camera quality, but since I barely use mine I don't really care. The design of the GSIII looks...off, like they tried to copy the GNex design but gave it a big Jay Leno chin. Hardware is obviously going to be better, but enough for me to want another phone? Not even close. Not yet.

It's great that the skinned versions of Android 4.0 seem to be less overbearing than their Gingerbread counterparts, but TouchWiz still looks terrible to me. Stock trumps skinned every day of the week, at least to me.

So all in all I'm still perfectly happy with the Galaxy Nexus. The only phone that gives me pangs of envy is Google's version of the phone I already own!

I thought the sgsIII may only be an incremental upgrade over the GN and I feel that that is in fact the case. Pass.

My update was due December of last year and I kept holding of waiting for the next great thing. I finally decided if I kept doing that I would never get a new phone.

I finally upgrade to my Gnex in March, and after today I still don't regret it. I still think phones at this point are just minor upticks in their evolution. A bit bigger,a bit faster,my screen is better than your screen, My Battery comes out yours doesn't,I have an sd card slot you don't.

At this point my phone does everything I need it to and does it well. I'm not so spec crazy that 1.4 makes me feel my 1.2 is outdated and old. At this point I am only looking forward to December of 2013 when I upgrade again. I'm hoping by then the whole quad (or more) core on lte, poor battery life, and other problems have been addressed and fixed. Until that time I'm content with what I have.

I'm sure there will be the "must have the latest device" crowd who will drop the nexus for this.
I certainly was in that camp when the nexus was released. I had a perfectly fine Charge. Paid full pop for the GN too.
I am a total gn root/mod freak and as the nexus matures it just gets better. I don't want to start from the bottom again and have to wait till all the goodies the nexus has to come to the gs3, if it ever will.

Also with the rumors of Samsung again being selected as partners for the next Nexus. This hardware in some form will anyways come to the next Google phone. So am definitely not buying..

Lol I failed and clicked vote before noticing I voted wrong so we are not at 100% anymore sry :(

As I mentioned on the GS3 page, I'm not spec hungry over phones, they all even the low end ones do pretty much everything well. My 2 year old Epic was still kicking butt.

I'll take the better software any day of the week. To me the software on the Nexus is better, I can understand people who may prefer a skinned phone though too. I just hate all the pre loaded stuff that's typically thrown in as well as the even greater amount of time between updates.

Of this is true that's leaps and bounds from what we got. none of the apps are optimized so that we can (I'll take half the time) multitask between apps.

I understand it's ram but I have widgets that's what they're for. If I get a text and answer it then I want my current screen of words with friends to be there without having to load it. Iphones and other androids do this fine.

Eh, having paid full price for my Galaxy Nexus, I plan to hold on to this phone for quite a while. Even then, the Nexus is a great phone, and I don't feel "jealous" or "envious" in any way to more recent phones, such as the HTC One series.

Anyway, the S3, to me, basically looks like a slimmer Galaxy Nexus, with slight improvements and a couple interesting features, but covered up by TouchWiz. Some stuff, like pop out play, or whatever they called it, seemed neat, but nothing that seems like much of a big deal at all.

I would consider it if:
1. I had an upgrade in july/august and give mom or gf the nexus and have option to switch back, or
2. if i didnt have a nexus currently.

Seeing as i dont have an upgrade till decemberish, by which point hopefully we will have a new nexus, and i own this one already, i would not get the s3.

oh i forgot,
3. if i were just plain rich, i might get one and keep the nexus and switch out my sim card btwn them.

Yeah rich ppl suck cos they get to do cool stuff like that. I wish I sucked.

Seriously, No thank you to touchwiz. Touchwiz is very invasive. Even though you got a different launcher which would seem like TW is gone, it is still very much a part of the rom.
AOSP for me thank you.
Me no likey capacitive buttons...the nexus softkeys are the way to go. Plus for a modder like me, you can change them out to some really cool ones. Capacitive->no can do.

I hate my Galaxy Nexus desk top charger and car dock. Oops, my bad, there isn't one yet. Just trying to get Samsung's attention no troll intended. I do like the phone though.

I was legitimately thinking about picking up the GS3 prior to the announcement. I was expecting a brand new breathtaking display and a decent looking UI. Neither are that great and the phone itself is nothing to write home about. I'd probably choose the HTC One X over it.

Oh well, makes me that less jealous and keeps the $700 bucks or so in my pocket for better things. Here's to hoping the next Nexus/GS4 doesn't disappoint
