First go to Settings > Security > Device Administrators.
Deactivate all programs there.
then go back to Security and click clear credentials at the bottom of the page.

That is what worked for me after using AirDroid.

You can do this
Setting>security>apps with usage access
and find a screen lock app and turn off

Same issue on my Galaxy Tab E Lite. Clearing the credential storage fixed it.
