Galaxy S5: How's everyone's battery life so far?

Mine has been pretty horrible so far... unplugged at 6:30 am this morning, already at 84%, barely used it...

The HTC one M8, (which i am no way saying is better), but i exchanged it in for this.. the HTC one M8 has WAAAAAAY better battery life then this.. and i find that odd..

I even went through and disabled a lot of the ATT bloat. All gestures are OFF, pretty much running basic settings.

My battery life sucks. Last night at midnight it was 100% and this morning at 8 am it was 49%. It shows that the 'Android System' is the main battery drainer. I don't know what to do. Any suggestions?

I sold my m8 and picked up the s5 too, the s5 is better for me with the same settings/usage etc... How long have you had yous?m

Do you guys find that unified daemon is using some battery? I think it's got to do with the lock screen showing the weather, which is a feature I like.

For those looking to improve what they have already, turn on ART in the Dev settings. You should see a nice boost in performance and battery life as a result.

That sounds pretty good. There are certain processes that will show as the Android kernel when used.

Hey guys, Im on my first day with the gs5 and am noticing that MEDIA is using a considerable amount of CPU time. its not keeping the phone awake but im 61% at 3hrs 51min off batt with 1hr 49min screen on and MEDIA using 1h 3min only keeping phone awake 8min 56sec.

Any suggestions or ideas?

The battery life is amazing compared to the iPhone 5s. On a normal day, I charge it to 100% before I go to bed around 11 (yes, I sleep with my phone, it's my alarm clock...my apartment has horrible outlet placements!!). With the 5s, I'm down to 90-85% by the time I wake up at 6:45. With the s5, I'm at 100% still thanks to that awesome ultra powersaver! And I haven't had to plug it back it until about 8:30-9pm just to ensure it's charged to 100% by 11. So far, I think I'm pretty happy with the switch to the s5, but there is a small part of me that wants to go back to the iPhone just because it's pocket friendly, then I look at the s5 and I can't bring myself to drive back to AT&T lol.

After a quick charge to 100%, I drove for three hours while using Waze navigation with the screen on the entire time. It dropped to 45% with automatic brightness near maximum on a sunny day. This was unrooted stock TouchWiz.

Hop on down to the build number, and tap it seven times. One. Two. Three. Four. Five. Six. You'll get a little prompt saying you're about to unlock the developer settings. Hit that button one final time -- seven! -- and they're unlocked.

Now where the hell is "ART". lol

Haha...someone in this thread mentioned that if you turn on ART in Dev settings you get a boost in battery life and performance.
