Galaxy S5: How's everyone's battery life so far?

How do I turn location report history. Doesn't sound important since I don't use Google plus

Turning off location report/history is not the same thing as turning off location completely. it will just help with reducing battery drain from Google apps like google+, google now. All the location service requests from apps will work just fine as long as location is on with data and/or GPS.

I thought my battery was ok, but if you guys are really getting insane like 8 hour screen times than uh ....guess not.

Does it matter that I'm still charging it with the micro usb 2.0 charger from my S3? The only difference is speed of charge, correct?

Getting great battery life still.

What do you have your screen brightness set to? I have mine on 20% and can pull an 8 hour screen time day (on wifi).

That, and if you are using a USB 3.0 port on a laptop/computer, it'll also offer faster data transfer speeds. Battery life will be the same though

here's what mine looks like so far. Any idea why Android OS is sucking my battery?

My kernal stays between 20-35% is that too much
Download GSam Battery Monitor. Let it run for an hour or so and then tap on it to see what's causing the drain. Before you do that, I'd recommend rebooting as that usually fixes wakelocks.

Used the phone quite heavily today setting it up just the way I like it. Screen brightness at about 80% on WiFi all day downloading all my apps and using Samsung Switch. Showed 9 hours 35 min. total usage with just under 7 hours, (6hr 43mn), screen on time with 13% remaining! While the total usage wasn't all that impressive, the on screen time was as good as I have ever gotten on any Smart Phone! Sorry that I don't have a screen shot of the total usage, but I do have one of the screen time if needed...now that it is setup and I can let the battery settle in, it will be interesting to see what kind of battery life this will get...my S4 regularly would ring up 17+ hr battery life with moderately heavy usage, lots of streaming/ podcast, screen on reading, and videos!
This is great but the really impressive part to me is the charge time! Tonight I timed the charge time from 7% remaining to 100% charge at exactly 93 min.! An hour and a half is amazing! Ironically, I won't be utilizing this since I will be going wireless charge as soon as the kit is available!

While this isn't battery related, my only disappointment so far with this phone is the BIG camera bump! Will have to do some research to make sure the case I put on this will protect the camera lens!!! I also had to invest a LOT of trial and error time into setting up the finger print scanner! Worked on this for quite a while but can report that it work every time now! It seems to increase in consistency the more you use it...like it is learning...so if you are having issues with this keep trying!

Cheers

I can't tell yesterday I had a good battery day. Today I'm at 14 hours total and 5 hours screen time with 17% battery left which is a little worse than yesterday I had 6 hours with 15%

That's pretty high. Mine is currently at 7%
If it's not affecting battery life I wouldn't worry too much though

That sounds pretty good. There are certain processes that will show as the Android kernel when used.

Ok I shut it all off and set Location to GPS only. A little disturbed because I woke up this am phone at 100%, shut off my alarm, checked 5 email and within 20 minutes (screen on for maybe 3 of those minutes) my battery was down 5%. I restarted the phone and put it back on the charger to get back to 100%. I will report later today. Hopefully it will help!

I should also add that I did logout of Google+ because I don't use it anyway.

I am loving the battery life so far. Unplugged yesterday at 10am and lasted until midnight with another charge. That's great especially for my Sunday usage. Several calls 10 minutes or longer, about 500 text in and out, emails, 1 movie, several YouTube videos and surfing.
