Galaxy S5: How's everyone's battery life so far?

Haha...someone in this thread mentioned that if you turn on ART in Dev settings you get a boost in battery life and performance.

Might try it during my next battery cycle, you have to restart once you activate it.

I turned ART on and the phone restarted on it's own. Can anyone confirm whether or not turning ART on increases battery life and performance? And if it does why isn't it turned on by default?

I was reading an article that technically it is still in it's development stage and it too unstable to the the primary runtime system. Apparently some apps will not work properly with it. It is def the future though.

I unplugged mine this morning and put it down at 6:45. Forgot to pick it up. Got home at 18:30 and was on 55% battery. I had left wifi on and power saving. Had 1 missed call and 3 app notifications and thats it... day 1 was much better and I didnt have power saving on.

If you put it on, it won't check for firmware updates or let you install them, saying your phone has been "tampered with"

However if you go back to the reg runtime, it lets you. Interesting.

High accuracy and that's because I have the weather app set to use my location which only works with the high accuracy setting.

That doesn't seem so great. I was hoping to upgrade my Droid Razr MAXX, but don't want to sacrifice my battery life. In almost two years, I can honestly say I've never run out of juice with my MAXX - it usually lasts from 6:30am to about 11:00pm and has about 50% left at bedtime:

That doesn't seem so great. I was hoping to upgrade my Droid Razr MAXX, but don't want to sacrifice my battery life. In almost two years, I can honestly say I've never run out of juice with my MAXX - it usually lasts from 6:30am to about 11:00pm and has about 50% left at bedtime:

This doesn't seem so great because something is waking my phone. This is not normal.

Ok here is what u have found so far as the major killer keeping my phone awake. Any ideas on a fix?
I did Google it but it seems to be the wifi service and not the phone itself? I use different networks during the day and night so would turning off wifi be my only option here?

Thanks! Changed my wifi settings to keep wifi on during sleep only when plugged in. Hoping it helps as I can't fiddle with the cities routers at work!

Also if you look into advanced setting under WiFi, there should be check box for searching WiFi points even when WiFi is off. That's standard feature of KitKat and turning off that option should be better for battery I guess.

Do you need to be rooted in order to see the wake locks within that app?
