Galaxy S5: Is the RAM a downgrade from the S4?

Re: Is the RAM a downgrade from the S4?

So in this apple to oranges comparison the S5 is making a backward move by moving laterally??

I concur with spookboy the note 3 is fricken amazing. I use it for EVERYTHING! Reading, gaming, and most importantly business stuff. I'm just now starting to tap into the SPen and the rest of the tools and can't imagine business without it.

Preach!!

I had the original note and loved that. Then my carrier had a good upgrade deal on but you had to upgrade to a 4G capable phone. The note 2 doesn't do 4G, so went for the S4. It's a nice phone but it's not a Note. I even tried the iphone 5S for 28 days but in the end had to get the note 3. It's so perfect for everything and the battery life is great.

Had the s3 and liked it but it lacked functionality and the battery if was pathetic.

So your saying the Note 4 will be a great update for me then!

Besides that....the S3 has actually been solid for me for most of my use!

Why do you need hexa core phones some games on the computer still don't use quadcores.

This is kinda like asking why you need a car that goes 200mph Quite simple really, if you had a car would max out at 70mph and that was the posted speed limit you would have to push you car to the limit every time you went 70mph. Now if that same car could go 200mph you obviously wouldn't go that fast right but there would be a whole lot less stress on its systems when traveling 70mph. Said car would burn less gas and be better equipped to handle things tossed its way

Having a more capable phone may not be necessary for everyone but I want and will pay for the a phone that can preform beyond the means i place on it.

Re: Is the RAM a downgrade from the S4?

The HexaCore had been announced and tested quite a while ago, and since the 64-bit iPhone word that Sammy was also working on that came out and though they denied it would be ready for the S5, I thought 'hey, this is Samsung, they're just saying they won't do something just to end up doing it anyway'. And they did copy the Fingerprint sensor and 'upped' one HeartRate monitor, after all. But at least the HexaCore was a more plausible speculation. I don't know, I just expected, or hoped for, more.

My post above I just forgot to quote his

I'm not complaining about a hexa core phone. Which would allow me to multitask better and it would be future proof and I see what your saying but asking as they keep the phone in a reasonable price range. I could maybe see this happening on the Note 4 due to its size but with a hexa core it would need more battery life and the other specs like RAM and the screen either have to be the same as the 3 or greater. While still maintaining the same price point.

Why do you want hexa or octa core processors in the new exynos. Because arm is smart and know the new a15 cores are battery hogs. So they supplement them with the a7 cores which are strong enough for light task and very power efficient. That's why Qualcomm doesn't base their 800 series chip off of the a15. Yes clock for clock the a15 will destroy the 800 but it will use a lot more power doing so. But on the subject no the ram is not a step down it's a huge step up. It's faster look at the comparison between the memory bandwidth of the 801 and the 600 chips to see how much faster it is.

Exactly. I love knowing my phone will handle anything I throw at it.
