This thread is titled "Galaxy S5 Prime to be launched in June." Oh yeah? You know this how? The article doesn't say it, does it? No proof that I read on the page that was linked to.

Is that not for their camera phone? An excerpt from the ad:

It?s widely expected that Samsung will introduce its new Galaxy K cameraphone at the upcoming event. Remember all of the rumors about the S5? Iris scanner, fingerprint scanner embedded in the screen, metal and leather casing, etc etc.

I honestly would take all of these rumors with a grain of salt. Agree with others on the thread that this is likely a Korean or SE Asian exclusive, and while it may be a sign of things to come for the S5, I highly doubt the rest of the world will get their hands on this.

Also, I think that Samsung would be off their rockers to uproot sales of the S5 this quick into the product cycle. It would be like Apple unveiling the iPhone 5c as the new iPhone and following it up with the 5s a few months later. To me, it makes 0 sense that the "Prime" will be anything but a niche or regional-only offering.

Sadly with the higher resolution screen and touchwiz, it will lag. Samsung needs to quit throwing specs at it thinking that will fix it and fix their awful software. No reason the s5 or even s4 should lag

The general population doesn't seem to mind, they keep buying the phone by the millions, so why change anything? Lol

Good point. I think the reason is that of you see the traditional iPhone release cycle. It is very close to the galaxy note phone update cycle and samsung cannot risk cannibalizing that by releasing the prime also around that time frame.

Frankly speaking I am totally confused with what Samsung's strategy is if they end up releasing the prime. They are not gaining much by impacting their flagship sales. As the saying goes - 'A bird in the hand is better than 2 in the bush'

Yeah they might as well release it here, releasing the S5 Prime will compete with the Note 4 in Asia also.

I don't and nobody who bought the S5 (from the internet communities) should blame Samsung either, it was well known Samsung had the " Prime " or something else in the rumor mill.
