Galaxy S6 Active

It's now IP-68 which can be submerged under a meter of water for 30 minutes, also up to 4 hours in freezing rain, Dust resistance is better than on the S4Active, S5Active, etc.

That's pretty cool, especially considering that this is accomplished w/out the need for headphone jack or charging port plugs. I hated those plugs/covers on the S4 Active my wife had ... and she hated them more than I did, since she was the one who had to deal with them all the time.

Indeed the port covers were more trouble than they're worth lol

That phone is kinda sexy in it's own way ... and even w/ the increased thickness, it's really not very thick all things considered ... and it's protected, and flushed-out all around.

I'm sure it's been stated, and I've missed it ... but does the Active support wireless charging right out of the box?

LMAO ... I need to make sure my wife doesn't find out about the S6 Active ... she wears her phone out all the time, and is always worried about battery life ... and she kinda freaked out about not having the ability to swap out batteries anymore (she used to have to do a battery swap daily w/ her S4 Active) ... This phone would fix a lot of that for her w/ the increased battery size, and she wouldn't have to run a case on it either.

That said, she does love her S6 in white w/ the Caseology slim case on it ... but she'd probably have rather had this phone given it's bigger battery and no "need" for a case LOL.

I had the s6 and s6 edge also. Damn nice phones. I just couldn't get the battery life I want out of them. Then I tried the lgg4 and same battery life to me. The regular s6 versions are not rated to be waterproof at all. I value camera and battery life first. I like IR blaster and water resistance. Basically I wanted the s6 camera with better battery. I won't really miss the fingerprint scanner because if that doesn't work 100% of the time for me I get frustrated and turn it off anyway. Seems early on like this active will fill my needs.

Fortunately for me, I get decent-good battery life ... I mean, if I use the heck out of the phone all day, I expect it to die down ... but when I have it sitting idle, even with wifi, bluetooth, syncing, etc. all on (which I basically leave on all the time), I get very little battery drain ... so the whole battery life thing isn't a thorn in my side as it is for some.

As for the fingerprint scanner, mine works flawlessly all things considered. It's rare mine doesn't work ... and 95% of the time that it doesn't, it's my own error in how I have my finger/thumb laid on the button.

I'm more than content w/ my S6 ... but admit, if they made the hybrid S6 / Active I described above ... which would be just a more rugged S6 with larger battery, but no real waterproofing (meaning it would have the fingerprint scanner and capacitive buttons), I'd be selling my S6 in a heartbeat to get the S6 Active Hybrid.

Nice phone Malo! Once you've had a few days with it would you post your battery stats?

Direct comparison to gs5 rear speaker...a little louder, but MUCH clearer and crisp.

Early on I know. But it's showing I'm averaging almost 24 hrs with almost 9 hrs sot.

On a comedic note, the at&t lady (not the one I have a crush on from the commercials) who sold me the phone randomly asked me if I had ever tried the Amazon Fire Phone. I literally laughed out loud, and asked her if she meant the one at&t had sold 2 of.

That girl from the AT&T commercials kind of makes me want to puke. :p

16gb would be tiny. And I don't think I've ever filled up 16gb. I've got plenty of online storage and data. 128gb is tiny compared to 1tb of my online. And I don't have to worry about losing my phone and all my pictures ,videos and stuff. And with this battery, I can watch, look or listen for a long time.
